disgruntled101··on Quantum astronomy could create telescopes hundreds of kilometers wide
The optimism of scientific publications likewise
disgruntled101··on Humans Will Never Colonize Mars
What if we build robots that are remote controlled by humans using tactile feedback? We could have a chassis that can work on mars while being controlled from Earth. Maybe that's one of the idea Elon has with Neuralink. A huge obstacle would be latency I guess
disgruntled101··on The war against money-laundering is being lost
There is no actual war on money-laundering just like there is no war on drugs. In the sense that the people that do the most money-laundering are the same people that control the institutions of the state. Invariably people indicted for money-laundering are small fries that do not have the necessary connections to be immune to indictment.
disgruntled101··on Zoom zero-day discovery
You are always free to sell the hacks for their """actual""" market value on the black market. Of course you need to launder the money, you might get jailed, you might have to flee the country and so on but at least you get your fair rate.

When you find have the answer, do change the title so we can know. Thanks
disgruntled101··on How Western Civilisation Could Collapse
What is necessary for western society is to import more people that do not want to contribute to society besides accepting welfare. These people must be let to have on average 5-12 children to extract as many welfare benefits as they possibly can. We need more diversity so that no common ground can be found when it comes to wealth inequality. We must distract ourselves from the elephant in the room by fighting small meaningless battles amongst ourselves while the so called elites create their gated community fortresses.

Basically we must do the exact same thing as South Africa, Brazil and many other countries. In this way we will be saved.

disgruntled101··on Human use of high-bandwidth wireless brain-computer interface
Just meditate on your breath or play pazaak in your mind to distract the mind reading
disgruntled101··on Human use of high-bandwidth wireless brain-computer interface
How long until programmers are forced to ditch antiquated methods of input like hands and keyboards in favor of streaming thoughts directly to your IDE? Can't wait to be forced by market forces to adopt such an interface and then promptly get ads streamed back or get brainhacked
disgruntled101··on Loot boxes linked to problem gambling in new research
Lootboxes were the beginning of the end for the gaming industry. All the visionaries have moved on from triple A games and now its just by the numbers cookie cutter formula games with different underhanded tactics to extract as much money as possible from victims.
disgruntled101··on Richard Stallman Removed from the GCC Steering Committee
In order to be tolerant we must remove everyone that does not agree
disgruntled101··on An Alarming Decline in Sperm Quality Could Threaten the Future of the Human Race
I live in Germany and have 4 children at 29, which seems to be about the average amongst my peer group. My brothers each have 2,5,3 children. We are not from Europe originally however so who knows maybe we haven't been exposed to plastics yet or it might be the fact that we're decently fit physically speaking.
disgruntled101··on Paul Erdős (2000)
that's really debatable. Accomplish a lot in the general sense most likely, but if you want to be a world class mathematician meth wont be enough, it will just boost your already existing capabilities
disgruntled101··on This Music Video Does Not Exist [video]
Well it does explicitly say it doesnt exist
disgruntled101··on Why the Wuhan lab leak theory shouldn't be dismissed
It seems that the common trend of explaining why China covered up the information and didn't let external third parties investigate is due to possible backlash. My simple question is, why fear backlash if it wasn't a leak either due to incompetence and malice? If bats from outside the lab truly started it, why not let observers see this? Why hide it?
disgruntled101··on Richard Stallman is coming back to the board of the FSF
What you are saying here would get you cancelled 100 times over if you were a public person, sadly.
disgruntled101··on A curated list of .NET performance resources
Any Java equivalent to this github?
disgruntled101··on Can a Vegan Diet Be Healthy? A Literature Review
Any diet can be healthy as long as you hit your micronutrient targets for your age and sex and keep calories at your tdee if you want to maintain or slightly lower if you want to lose weight.
disgruntled101··on Amazon won't sell books framing LGBTQ+ identities as mental illness
At the risk of having too hot of a take. What Amazon and other corporations are doing is the equivalent of ideological bikeshedding, inflaming different subcultures to fight amongst each other in order to ignore the elephant in the room. Mainly the fact that the elites have too much power. This is a blatant bait for the alt right movement to tear itself to pieces with the leftist movement which incidentally is playing in the corporations hands by suppressing all dissent via cancel culture (that is also sanctioned by corporations, as long as it doesnt touch their bottom line)
disgruntled101··on Amazon won't sell books framing LGBTQ+ identities as mental illness
We need to keep the internet inclusive that's why we must exclude all dissenting opinions
disgruntled101··on Google fires second AI ethics researcher following internal investigation
dont not be evil
disgruntled101··on Stop Swiss Cheesing your calendar
it has triggered mediocre CRUD maintainers that do not have fundamental development skills and yet think very highly of themselves because they know how to write a new API endpoint
disgruntled101··on When parties reverse their stance, supporters immediately switch their opinions
To be honest you can just go with the reasoning to its logical conclusion and switch your stance depending on what gives you the most personal benefit (clout or material gain) rather than switching based on party stance. From the looks of it all ideology is artificial, imposed on you by others. And personality is the same, an artificial mask set upon yourself by random circumstance. Better free yourself to seek your own gains.
disgruntled101··on Study Predicts the Amazon Rainforest Will Collapse by 2064
It does seem that the general trend of all these articles is to say that we're fucked and there's no way out. Fair enough, I'll continue consuming
disgruntled101··on A swarm of drones flying through heavy forest–while staying in formation
Looks great, can you use this code with commercial drones or do you need some extra hardware?
disgruntled101··on VMware Cuts Pay for Remote Workers Fleeing Silicon Valley
And just like that your manager has decided that your work is now less valuable despite meeting the same KPIs, adding the same value and sacrificing the same amount of your lifespan to make him rich.
