dcarmo··on Ask HN: Do you feel like you're missing out?
I did the same thing and ended up with the same feeling.
dcarmo··on Show HN: A Global Co-Living Subscription for Nomads
Hey, great list! I want to start working remotely soon and will make sure to go through most of the links you curated there. Thanks!
dcarmo··on Swift Resistance
I don't get it, what's the problem with Swift, iOS 7 compatibility and iPhone 4? I've been working on an app for iOS 7+ devices for a few months and everything is working ok. The pains I'm facing with Swift are far from compatibility with iOS (debugging is hell compared to Objective-C).
dcarmo··on Inkscape 0.91 release
I love Inkscape, but not having a native OSX build sucks.
dcarmo··on Ask HN: How to price yourself?
I have the same feeling. Even if I apply with a low rate, there's always 20+ in front of me. Clients don't even have time to answer everyone (my guess).
dcarmo··on Ask HN: How was your experience using parse.com?
From what I've read in this thread, Parse isn't that good for production, but there isn't anything better, is that correct? If not, what are good alternatives to it?
dcarmo··on Apple is working on a new digital music format
Embedded lyrics please
dcarmo··on What the Brazilian Startup Ecosystem Needs to Succeed
Question is: are you guys willing to pay decent salary? I've seen this "can't find local work force" talk a lot, but most of them want local work force paying minimum wage (when comparing to other places in the world).

About equity: I don't see anything wrong in wanting a pay check. IMO equity is a plus a company can offer employees as a way to help hold talent - not salary substitute.

dcarmo··on iPhone 6 Screens Demystified
Not stupid at all, I still don't understand the reasoning behind it.
dcarmo··on I Am an Indie iOS Developer – Part 2
Where did you find this market rates information?
dcarmo··on I Am an Indie iOS Developer – Part 2
This. I'm an iOS developer and only working and learning new things in the field consumes all my time. I can't image how would I start working on different technology (say node.js, which is something I want to) without impacting on my iOS learning curve.
dcarmo··on How I work as a digital nomad
Why Thailand? Low cost of living?
dcarmo··on The Ocean Cleanup
Is there anyway to buy their The Feasibility Study book? I'd love to help them and get one copy.
dcarmo··on Brazil, Europe plan undersea cable to skirt U.S. spying
Lol at you thinking that being able to import your PS4 is priority #1. I too hate the import tax, but this priority is way down the list of what the government should be tackling.
dcarmo··on Why Stack Overflow in Portuguese?
I totally agree with you. It's not because it's English per se, it's because we need one universal language. English is the better choice because all the code that we have to write is based in... English. "while", "for", "if", "switch", "return", those are all English words that weren't picked at random: they have actual meaning on what you're doing. If you are programmer and don't know English, you'll never be a great programmer because you'll never understand the basics of the programming language you're working with. By the way, I'm Brazilian. You want to start programming? Great, learn English first. It's not hard and it's gonna make more good than harm to you.
dcarmo··on Started a stupid company. Failed.
It just seems wrong to have three kids under 6 and a wife pregnant and still try your luck on creating a new company. I think before anything else, you need to be responsible with the ones that depends on you.
dcarmo··on ThePirateBay is down
I don't understand, why is this relevant to Hacker News?
dcarmo··on Report: Dropbox seeks new funding, valuing company at $8 billion
"The only problem is that you have to install something."
dcarmo··on Ask HN: Is Java still worth learning?
This is a question I keep asking myself, specially within the web development enviroment. The company I'm currently working for wants to use Java for their web service needs (I'm trying to push a RESTful approach, but I'm have 0 knowledge of how they could start that in the Java world). So I ask: is Java worth learning for web development (scalability, lines of code, etc)? If not, why?
dcarmo··on Show HN: Built a 'Kayak for courier services'
Do you guys have contracts with the carriers to have access to their API?
dcarmo··on Show HN: Built a 'Kayak for courier services'
Being an aspiring entrepreneur, I'd love to see Brazil there.
dcarmo··on Show HN: I'm working on an open-source Gmail replacement
Maybe having an online database of spam emails that every self hosted mail can access could be an answer.
dcarmo··on April 5, 2007: "Show HN, Dropbox"
"What tools will you use to build your product? Python (top to bottom.)"

Yes.

I'd suggest for you to change the title of the page so it looks better on my bookmark bar. :)
