> The requirement to offer a 'Reject All' button next to an 'Accept All' button follows indirectly from the consent requirements in the GDPR; consent must be as easy to revoke as it is to give.

More than that, I don't think Patreons will ever be able to compete in a world where Netflix/Max/Disney exists just by making content. For example, if you consider the $10 tier of The Command Zone[1], you'd have to weight that in against something like the Disney+ catalog, which I think is even cheaper and definitely has a lot more content?
Now, you should probably ask yourself why you care so much about what other people do with their money. I won't get one, but I see why people would. If you are also not considering buying it, why do you even care ?
You'd probably only use it for focused work, i.e. when you actually need more than one screen.
I think it's pretty clear that "the beach" here means your hotel room/airbnb. You wouldn't usually travel with your monitors, so you'd be stuck with your 14" screen. That's the use case this is addressing.
It seems to me like one could use the same argument regarding slave labor, but somehow we manage to force companies to comply there.

I'm on the same boat as you, but ended up just getting a long table so I can move to the empty side when I need it.

After a week of doing that you can pretty easily get rid of the trash content.
To make matters worse, you are also competing with all of history. If you want to read 12 books this year, when are you going to get to the small creators with years-worth of classics to go through?
It's funny because I use PayPal for any unknown-to-me site where I don't want to give out my card, but the only site where I've needed their help to cancel something was the New York Times.
I think the most important part is having your own domain so you can switch whenever you want, but that's also the most difficult part.
What I did is to keep both emails and slowly migrate service by service. Nowadays, my Gmail is mostly spam and all the important things are in my custom domain, so I just check my old email once or twice per month in case there's something I've missed.
I'd never thought about it before, but the prevalence of star wars in pop culture made it so basically my whole generation had that reveal spoiled in cartoons and different parodies way before any of us actually watched the movie.
That's like saying all junior-level employees MUST carry a book on top of their heads all the time, and only C-Level executives get to skip that. If you give someone flexibility, you are not taking anything away from other people, so not giving it is only an unnecessary punishment for junior level employees.

He started SpaceX because he wanted human missions to mars, he's as "progressive" as every American was in the 70s.

> What can be done about it? Also, any headphones that let you replace batteries?
One thing you can do is getting something like the UTWS1 from FiiO [1], which is then connected to any IEM that has an MMCX connector. This is not cheap, and is probably not going to give you the best battery life and/or sound quality, but when the battery dies or you get tired of it you still have a perfectly functional set of headphones.
Then don't use it ? That's like saying you only like one show on netflix so they should give it to you for free
