The problem is that the SPA way of thinking has infiltrated every nook and cranny in this industry. The ratio of APIs vs clients consuming those APIs come scarily close to 1, at least with the customers I work with.
Now you have to maintain two projects, two CI/CD pipelines, two hosting solutions, potentially two sets of languages and tooling…
So they sacrificed the freedom of design to save €100?

I’m more happy about not having to maintain working knowledge of two sets of IDEs, build tools, CI/CD pipelines, hosting models and testing framework and conventions.

My house (~1900sqf/200m2) is currently warmed up by a 10kW Nibe 2025 that’s connected to a 300L buffer tank. It does it by its own down to -5C, after which a 3kW resistance heater in the tank adds the missing effect. During the winter it uses ~1000-1500kWh for both heat and warm water.

But if you list the causes of SAABs demise you get pretty far down the list before coming to "2 months vacation and 36 hour workdays" (it's 25 days and 39 hour work weeks btw).

I prefer a five day workweek with shorter days because I rarely have 8 good hours in me. That, and as long as the rest of the world is working 5 days a week it’s easier to conform.
