Comments like this are what make it difficult for me to take HN seriously anymore. It's just an example of the hivemind at work, assume that an entire industry has the same ideas as you about what technology to use.
The Node/JS ecosystems are experiencing a Cambrian explosion in technology, with all that implies. If you don't like it, don't worry. It probably won't take 20 million years this time to settle in on the "best" ways of doing things.
If you're trying to decide between build systems I would recommend checking it out, and watching this video[2] for a nice overview.

I feel like the "negativity" that HN is so concerned about could be dealt with through down votes. The "gratuitous negativity" edict feels Orwellian, and I question its value vs unintended consequences.

My understanding is that ComponentsKit has you write your iOS apps with ObjC/Swift or whatever, but it gives you a way of structuring your apps that is similar to React.js
Nearly every time I fly, I hear someone in the security line (which to me resembles a cattle chute) remarking that they're in fact glad for the inconvenience, as they somehow feel safer. Nearly every family member or friend with whom I discuss Edward Snowden's revelations and the vast injustice of what the NSA is doing couldn't care less.
I really don't have much hope for this bill. But I really wish I could believe in it as much as my younger self would have.
It's almost as if the total number of people voting in Brazil has nothing to do with the quality of the individuals running for office within their system...
