The answer is, it depends. Reversability is very much related to duration of type 2: https://wchh.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/pdi.2297#:~....

It's a cure as long as you have $600-$1000 per month in the US for ozempic or tirzepatide.

It depends how many beta cells you have left. Usually by the time you are diagnosed you've lost at least 50%. Once they are gone you'll need exogenous insulin.

The secret is lots of veggies, fruits, and whole grains. The calorie density is low so it's easy to stay in a normal calorie range or even a deficit which is key for reducing risk of type 2 diabetes. Fat, especially Saturated fat causes insulin resistance. Many studied show this. Please show me any long term studies or a culture that are metabolically healthy on long term keto diets. Take a look at Virta health. Tons of money spent on low carb diets that achieved very little.

Try a book like "fiber fueled". That's a diet that is actually sustainable.

beef234··on Scientists discover links between Alzheimer's disease and gut microbiota
Analysis of gut microbiota composition by bacterial 16S rRNA gene sequencing in a subset of Alzheimer’s patients (Supplementary Fig. 1A–E) revealed no significant change in alpha and beta diversities between control subjects and Alzheimer’s patients (Supplementary Fig. 1B–D). However, at phylum level, Alzheimer’s patients had a higher abundance of Bacteroidetes (Fig. 1C) reported to comprise many pro-inflammatory species,53 and a lower abundance of the phyla Firmicutes and Verruocomicrobiota, reported to produce beneficial metabolites.54 At the genus level, Alzheimer’s patients had on average a significant reduction in the relative abundance of Clostridium sensu stricto 1 and the short chain fatty acid (SCFA) butyrate-producing genera Coprococcus, which is associated with healthy ageing in general55 (Fig. 1C). In addition, similar to a previous report using a transgenic mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease,56 the relative abundance of the pathobiont genera Desulfovibrio was significantly increased in Alzheimer’s patients compared to cognitively healthy control subjects

beef234··on Why Sleep Apnea Patients Rely on a CPAP Machine Hacker
From what I've read, if you raise slowly (like 1cmh2o per day maximum) you'll notice an increase in Central events and a higher AHI or obvious aerophagia if you get too high. I haven't read a single case of exploding lung though even at 20cmh2o. This is not medical advice though!
beef234··on Why Sleep Apnea Patients Rely on a CPAP Machine Hacker
Or if your family has definitely seen apnea events, just get an apap off Craigslist and a new mask and give it a test run.

Edit- Sorry didn't see this exact comment below, so I concur

If it makes you feel any better, I've read that most people require 4-5 different masks before they find one that works well for them. Usually there's a 30 day trial period on each mask so if it's leaking or not working for your sleep position, take them up on your free replacement mask.

Not sure how your AHI is but I need to be under 3 (and no leaks) to feel "great". Some people can self titrate to 0, but I'm not one of those lucky ones. Best I've ever hit was 2.0, but it was like night and day from my usual 4-5.

Good luck!

beef234··on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
He probably had it for over 15 years with high calcium tests every year on his physical. No doctor ever mentioned it as a problem as his health just degraded year after year. He figured it out himself and called Norman. So at least you'll have your 30s to enjoy!

Let me know how it goes afterwards. I'd love to hear how you recover!

beef234··on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Male friend at 35 also had lots of strange symptoms and figured out on his own that it was also hyperparathyroidism. He also went to Norman and sings their praises. He was eating dinner in Tampa the night after his morning surgery! They removed two para tumors. What's odd and probably why it took so long for his diagnosis is that it's usually a disease in older overweight women. He was the only young skinny man they saw all day.

He now found out he also has pretty severe apnea (been a pretty loud snorer for years) and isn't sure if it's related or not. The surgery did help but didn't solve everything so found the apnea next and is now on CPAP. Always something!

Good luck and feel free to message if you have any questions about the procedure.

Can you tell me more about powdered sulfur to avoid tick bites? I'm very prone to ticks and can't handle deet and essential oils don't seem to cut it. What type of sulfur do you use and can it be used directly on skin or just clothing?

On the plus side I hear they are testing now in the North East for various tick borne diseases and Zika in the South on donations. Progress is just slow and the current tests are not perfect.
