Just to make this feedback a little more constructive (I agree) - I suggest starting the demo video at 0:46/1:44 (the line beginning with "So, if I touch the bottom left corner of my trackpad...").
It's obvious to the viewer that these are windows being shown, in my opinion - you can start right off with the invoke interaction and go into the demo.
This story is unbelievable. The power costs versus profit make no sense, and if you had 10 magical supercomputers that could mine $100,000 of crypto against a $1,500 power investment, you surely wouldn't waste your time moving them around - or get the proper cooling setup in a random Airbnb, over and over.
A lot of snarky replies to this comment, but the reality is that if you were selling an anti-virus, identified a malicious virus, and then chose not to update millions of your machines with that virus’s signature, you’d also be in the wrong.
I also know someone at Amazon who “dogfooded” one! I saw one, single, semi-valid use case, which is that it was a decent way to intermittently check up on your pets without setting up multiple cameras… but obviously not worth it at nearly $3,000 with tax.
The US DOT publishes "Mishandled Baggage" statistics. These lump together lost and damaged, but for example states that Delta was around a 1 out of 256 chance to get "mishandled"... so, I'm not sure if the stats on this page are really all that far off - they seem all within the range of believable to me.
If this type of fine-tuning severely harms the general-purpose capabilities of the model, why is it advantageous versus using a slimmer model more suited to your goal from the start? I guess I don't fully grok the paper.
Ah, that is a very important distinction. Thanks for clarifying! For my purposes, the passphrase storage works fine, but I can see how the vault could be a useful feature.
Getting controlled substances is such a nightmare in the USA. Prescribers can't have renewal scripts, they can't prescribe for more than 30 days at a time on a single script...
You are very incorrect, but there's no point in going back and forth on this given how far off we are on claims.
Suffice it to say I have talked, personally, to enough bippers to understand that there are 'spotters' and 'bippers', and which one uses the cell-phone based Bluetooth scanner (which requires no 'hardware' or 'effort' to figure out the source of a BLE signal.)
The "time" it would take to do a Bluetooth scan? What are you talking about? There are free apps that will instantly show Bluetooth signal when walking past.
Do the Pixel Buds not have a Find feature? I have the same experience as you with Tile, but I use the "Find" feature on my iPhone to locate my AirPods all the time.
Doesn't seem like you are very informed on how LLMs work, but just so you know, there are many different versions of Claude, just like how ChatGPT can use different versions of GPT.
There were 112 heroes available at that time. It's also worth noting that two of the heros chosen for OpenAI to use, Viper and Sniper, are considered some of the mechanically 'easier' heroes, as they rely primarily on autoattacks to do damage, as oppose to decision-making around when to use spells. Crystal Maiden, Lich, and Necrophos, the other 3 of the 5 OpenAI heros, are similarly considered 'easier' as they have spammable, very forgiving abilities that can be used almost indiscriminately.
I feel like this is really what killed the scooter companies. Either you have enough need to use one for commuting/etc. that you just buy your own, in which case you always know where it is, know it's in good condition, charged, etc. or you have infrequent need for one, in which case you're looking at spending maybe $20/year on scooters.
Unrelated question to the article: “They were absolutely petrified,” Jain said of his wife and daughter. “If we were on a 70-mile-per-hour highway, and this would have happened, that would have been catastrophic.”
Is it normal for people in the UK (Jain is from Cambridge, England) to use miles-per-hour? I thought it was kilometers-per-hour, generally.
Am I alone in thinking this is a little strange? If my teenager decided to live their life in a comic book costume, or cosplaying and pretending to be an anime character, I would say they are too attached. There are YouTubers like "ReportoftheWeek" who like to dress in an older style, but choosing to not learn to use a cellphone and bypassing understanding modern technology seems to be going too far.
Most savings accounts pay 5%+ now, I agree that holding your cash under your mattress is not the play, but that's very different than gambling on risky options or even riskier cryptocurrencies.
Your second point makes zero sense - BTC is 40% lower than it's all-time-high, I just looked it up. Other cryptos are much worse.
