I really don't understand this comment. I agreed with the first sentence and then proceeded to get more and more lost until I got to the bottom and found your 'relevant' xkcd that has nothing to do with the article at all.

These changes, plus the features I've noticed lately that push up "your past memories" or "friendship anniversaries" certainly seem to be an attempt to get people posting more again, and remind them that what Facebook wants them to do is make this their 'social database'.
Spelling is important.
Looks cool, though, would be interested when you come to San Francisco.
I can look into doing this myself and submitting a PR after I get home, as well.

I'd rather just pay for Dropbox, rather than trust your people not to misuse my data or my files.
Is sending code snippets over e-mail very common?
Useful stuff, though, thanks!
I run the risk of them deciding to one day loot everything I own, and yet, I realize that the convenience of the services they provide is worth that minimal risk.
Same case with my cell phone.
It's like locking your doors on your house. Sure, a burglar could break the door down, smash a window, follow you around and steal your keys, etc., but it adds a level of security and precaution that keeps some of the bad guys out while not being insanely inconvenient.
I care about the privacy and security of my home, but I'm not going to live in a bunker.
If you have things being blocked you don't want, either whitelist the element or find the block rule in your rule list.
YouTube and Facebook definitely both work 'out of the box' with the recommended lists.
Camera/Photo for QR code-based 2FA, Bluetooth permissions and Internet Data to handle local connection to trusted machines and callbacks from sites like Coinbase (when I log into coinbase, I get a handy 2fa notification from authy that leads me right to the code)
Log data is the most questionable, but it really makes debugging so much easier when you can see what's going on, and is a pattern/permission they share with Evernote, foursquare, fring, Netflix, Rdio, Dolphin Browser, AccuWeather.com, Hotmail, doubleTwist Player, MOG, Handcent SMS, Bump, TweetCaster, etc.

I think it's pretty obvious that this isn't an "Uber attack" or some conspiracy, but the result of both companies racing to the bottom when it comes to driver compensation and benefits.
The problem is that Uber has always made it clear they're about efficiency and bottom line, whereas Lyft has tried to cultivate a 'community' feel. It stings more when your 'community' option turns out to be just the same as the 'money-grubbing' option.
