Which unfortunately seems more like the norm nowadays
arroz··on 3 Men Convicted of Harassing Family on Behalf of China’s Government

arroz··on European Union votes to bring back replaceable phone batteries
Not my experience… I replaced my iPhone 6 because it was slow, not because battery was bad

And since 2018 I have iPhone XR, and the battery is fine still. So is the phone speed. I’m not changing it anytime soon

arroz··on Ask HN: GPT4 Broke Me
I don’t know what the future will be and I can’t control it, so no point in worrying like OP is

One thing I will add is that many people are considering it a given that chatGPT will keep progressing at the same rate

arroz··on A prompt pattern catalog to enhance prompt engineering with ChatGPT
It’s not ridiculous

it’s just like the search tool engineers that would engineer the string to put in your google search

arroz··on Erdogan Promises to Transfer Power Peacefully If He Loses Ballot
Why is this news worthy? Shouldn’t the opposite be news worthy? if he promises he won’t transfer power peacefully? Or if he tries to not transfer power after the election?
arroz··on How are you using ChatGPT internally at your company?
I have to work with four different programming languages and I forget the syntax, so I use it to build me simple code snippets
arroz··on I can't believe I'm praising Tcl (2008)

arroz··on Ask HN: Is prompt engineering just snake oil?
What’s your beef with computer science?

arroz··on China plans to ban exports of rare earth magnet tech
This is not the same thing

Colonies many times weren’t even allowed to produce manufactured goods

There might be some learning curve but the extraction of rare earth materials should be well documented, it used to be done in the US

I don’t know about the manufacturing of goods from the extracted elements though.

SP is one of the safest cities in Brazil

I don’t feel like SP or SF is dangerous

arroz··on Bob Lee, former CTO of Square, has died after being stabbed in San Francisco
it’s not 10x difference even when compared to Western Europe with few exceptions
arroz··on Bob Lee, former CTO of Square, has died after being stabbed in San Francisco
People here saying SF is dangerous, the homicide rate is less than 3 per 100k people. I wouldn’t call it dangerous by any means. Shit happens.
