It is steep in terms of price - the LED lights are the main party feature... you can also use them as an alarm clock and take pictures on your phone and then match the light tone from where you took them.

As an Apple-watch wearing, iPhone user I find the system disappointing. I'm effectively using the same payment card/bank at the end of the transaction and yet being fined for issues like the reader in one station not accepting my Watch but happily accepting the same card that is attached to my Apple Pay account.

It's far from perfect, and not a great user experience.

I've written about financial tech startups for the past 5 years and can confirm, banks are worried about these guys as well as Apollo bank which just got a license this week.
