Hey HN!

Zenkit Projects is a dedicated project management tool that easily connects with the rest of the Zenkit suite.

Over the years, we’ve gathered a lot of experience with Zenkit Base for project management, so we implemented our 5 key-learnings: It is super easy-to-use, has a 360-degree dashboard, a global Kanban, resource management, and dedicated reporting. We’ve implemented many of the most highly-requested features and functions into Projects:

-A dashboard displaying personal and team task completeness, as well as progress across all projects.

-Global Kanban board, task list, and calendar views, as well as daily and weekly agendas.

-Grouping, sorting, and filtering in global views and reports.

-Custom reports with over 720 different configuration options.

-Resource management in the Gantt view, as well as a global resource planner.

-Multiple ways to view and work with projects, including Gantt, Kanban, calendar and hierarchy.

We would love it if you'd try it out and give us some feedback! Also, if you have any questions about Zenkit Projects please don't hesitate to post it in the comments.

alexf95··on Show HN: Obsidian for Mobile – Plain-text knowledge base on the go
Obsidian is definitely a great tool for knowledge management, and now it's even able to do all that on mobile!

Personally, I've used our tool Hypernotes (https://zenkit.com/en/hypernotes/). It released with a mobile version of it and also runs of all the platforms and has a web version too. It is also able to do all the features the modern "second brain" note-taking apps offer.

alexf95··on Lethal Autonomous Weapons Exist; They Must Be Banned
It always has been scary to me to how weapons evolve over time. Even though they are (thank god) mostly not needed they still keep developing further to be more lethal and efficient just to be "prepared" to what might happen in the future.
alexf95··on El Salvador makes Bitcoin legal tender
One of the first country to do it and definitely not the last country. More will follow in the next years I am pretty sure about that.
alexf95··on PostgreSQL 14 Beta 1 Released
New security features are always very welcome, especially in a database environment.
alexf95··on NASA AI Technology Could Speed Up Fault Diagnosis Process in Spacecraft
Is there anything that AI can't do by now?
alexf95··on Terms and Conditions Game
Fun game, I wonder if all the stages are technically legal.
alexf95··on Why I Love Coding (2012)
I feel you, in general I love coding, but I just usually run out of ideas fast if I actually want to start some kind of side project.
alexf95··on Show HN: Custom REST API Generator
Saw this on Producthunt earlier today. Looks really clean and useful. It is also, and probably most importantly really easy to use. Looking forwards to use it in the future or recommend it if someone has the need for it!
alexf95··on Avoiding Leetcode Anxiety
Fully agree. If there is any material available to prepare for the interview I will try to fully use it just to calm my mind about the interview itself. Because imagining myself in the interview and not knowing the answer to the one question asked that I could have prepared makes me do it.
alexf95··on China’s population appears to be shrinking
With how we are progressing with medicine and building up 3rd world countries the world population will grow a lot more still.
alexf95··on Show HN: I made a sandbox game to help with financial planning
Concept wise I would agree with some tweaks of course.

However, I think the style of the browser game might be a little off-putting for kids as they are not familiar with the "old windows" and generally more pixelated style.

alexf95··on Hire me and pay what you want, just give me interesting work
Yea i feel like a job in research would be best fit, but that probably also requires a certain level of graduation.
alexf95··on FLoC Away from Chrome
While I think its true that most people aren't aware of the privacy problem, i also think that a big part of that group also just doesn't care.
alexf95··on FLoC Away from Chrome
I dont understand why people that care so much for privacy just go and switch browsers? Website designers will never change and block users from using their site with Chrome because that would just kill 70% of the traffic.

I'm using FF myself and never had a problem with it

alexf95··on Calendso: An open source Calendly alternative
Seems interesting (looked at it on ProductHunt since Website was broken for me as well).

A well working scheduling, open-source tool would be great. And I also read that you can integrate it easily into other stuff?

alexf95··on Psilocybin 'promising' for depression
I feel like there will also people that have way too many prejudices towards these kinds of "drugs" because that's simply how we learned it. "Don't take drugs kids".

These studies are very helpful especially when shared over general media, but the consumption has to be supervised and controlled to not have overdoses and ruin the whole reputation again. It should be treated like any other anti-depressant, since they are just "drugs" in the end

alexf95··on Employee refuses to download app that monitors location, says it got her fired
> How else would a company know for certain that the employee who was supposed to clean a client premise actually went there?

Well this is the whole point. You have to trust your employees to some degree with this. Also you would totally notice someone not doing what they are supposed to do at some point, simply because their work would pile up otherwise. You can also have daily/weekly meetings to check on their progress to make sure they are doing their work.

alexf95··on Female hurricanes are deadlier than male hurricanes (2014)
Intresting paper, but not sure if this should be taken as "common knowledge" the sample size of this study was rather low so take it with a grain of salt.
alexf95··on My simple GitHub project went viral
Really loving this! As someone who also made clones of bigger software (usually with lesser functionality, because I was focussing on the main thing) I look forward into searching that list to find solutions of others.
alexf95··on Another Covid Myth Dies the Death
It certainly also played a psychological role when stuff was constantly cleaned and disinfected. Just think yourself back 10 months when everything about Covid was uncertain. You wouldn't want to be that 1 store/shop/restaurant that doesn't clean as much as the others.
alexf95··on The antidote to civilisational collapse – An interview with Adam Curtis (2018)
Yes somewhat this is also true for me. However I think this "HyperNormalisation" has to happen in some way, because if people would constantly worry about how bad and corrupt the world/systems are it wouldnt help anyone going forward because not everyone has the chance to make a change.
alexf95··on UP: A tool for writing Linux pipes with instant live preview
I didn't realise I needed this until I saw this post. Now I'm wondering why this isn't the standard already for every command line out there. Seems like a no brainer improvment with non to few downsides.
alexf95··on Programming quotes
This looks like it would be heaven for my software engineering professor. I swear he had smart Computer Science quotes on every second slide of his presentations.
alexf95··on Nationwide tells 13,000 staff to 'work anywhere'
A mix of both home-office and going to the actual office is probably the way to go for most companies. Sometimes being in the office just isn't necessary and colleague interaction can be done by phone or chat/video apps.

However, going into full time home-office mode isn't great either since you would miss out on the random meetings/talks when you run into each other in the office.

alexf95··on Google Removed ClearURLs Extension from Chrome Web Store
Hmm, intresting. Didn't think it would be basically "everywhere". Understandable though that i got disabled by Google.
alexf95··on Google Removed ClearURLs Extension from Chrome Web Store
Oh I see what you are saying thanks.
alexf95··on Study finds walking improves creativity (2014)
>the closer you stay around nature

Basically the further away you are from things that can distract your mind.

alexf95··on Google Removed ClearURLs Extension from Chrome Web Store
Can someone further explain "ClearURLs has made it to its mission to prevent tracking via URLs and that's how Google makes money"?

How exactly does the tracking via URLs work for Google?

alexf95··on How to create a 1M record table with a single query
This is the list that i could find:

Microsoft SQL Server, Firebird 2.1, PostgreSQL, SQLite, IBM Informix version, CUBRID, MariaDB and MySQL
