abinaya_rl··on ElevenLabs Launches Voice Translation Tool to Break Down Language Barriers
I remember when this guy[1] launched TranslateAudio a few months ago. For those unfamiliar, it's the first tool that launched the voice translation. It was built by an Indiehacker.

abinaya_rl··on Ask HN: Side project of more than $2k monthly revenue? what's your project?
Built https://remoteleaf.com to help remote job seekers.

We hand-pick remote jobs from all over the internet and send you the personalised list of remote jobs that are fit for you.

It took 2 years to reach $2k revenue and I lost interest in this project due to a lot of manual work. With the advancements in AI, I'm planning to focus on it again.

abinaya_rl··on Ask HN: Successful one-person online businesses?
I'm building a highly curated remote job board called Remote Leaf[1] for remote job seekers. I've been doing this last few years as a side project, I'm planning to go full-time on this very soon and focus on it fully.

abinaya_rl··on I created a site to make AI generated photos of your pet
Great results. How are you training the user updated images? Do you run on your GPUs or rely on third-party APIs? Lately, there are a lot of AI image-generation startups coming up. Thanks to Stable Diffusion + Dreambooth training which makes things possible.

abinaya_rl··on Show HN: Keyboard Jobs – A job board which truly understands software developers
This is the exact problem we are trying to solve with Remote Leaf[1](I'm the founder). We have been manually curating remote jobs and carefully tagging them each, finally sending the personalized list of jobs that fit based on their location and skills.

abinaya_rl··on Ask HN: How to learn to sell?
No more books, no more blog posts and nothing teaches as you speak to a few customers first.

Go and meet 20 customers and learn what they do and how you can solve them.

Then come back and read whatever you want to read now and it will everything makes sense.

Nice, There is official Apple documentation on running Linux GUI in VMs on Mac. So that means it's going to be Aashi linux competitor?
abinaya_rl··on Ask HN: Which mailing lists would you recommend to subscribe to?
I'm working on a paid newsletter called Remote Leaf[1], on which we are curating a good number of remote jobs from 60+ sources and sending you a personalised list that matches based on your location and skills.

Full disclosure: I'm the founder of this newsletter.

abinaya_rl··on I made a site for 100% location independent jobs
Perfect, I'm wondering how are you sourcing the jobs. Do you source the jobs manually or automatically?

I'm working on the Remote Jobs API service[1] for the job board developers. Each and every job is manually vetted and carefully curated from 40+ sources. If you think it will be useful, let me know. Happy to set up an account for you.

abinaya_rl··on Things I don’t want to do to grow my side project
got it, I would love to if it's a life changing amount or something like that :)
abinaya_rl··on Show HN: 1,900 remote company profiles with tech stacks and employee benefits
This is the actual problem we are trying to solve with Remote Leaf[1](shameless plug). There are tons of remote job openings posted every day on the internet and job seekers do not need to scroll through these long feeds instead we filter them by country and skills and send it to their email. At this point, we manually curate the jobs and tag them to provide good quality service for job seekers.

abinaya_rl··on Things I don’t want to do to grow my side project
Oh, you mean, selling my startup? Microacquire?
abinaya_rl··on Things I don’t want to do to grow my side project
I'm one of the victims of this scenario that the OP is talking about. I'm working on a side project for 3 years, it's a personalized job board for remote job seekers[1]. I'm doing a full-time job as well. I had grown it to 4k$ MRR working day and night and put in a lot of effort. At one point(6 months ago) I lost my energy and lost my focus, interest and everything. Now it's at the lowest point ever 1k$ MRR.

I think I'll need to follow OP's advice here. Just do the interesting things and grow slowly. Thanks for this post and it perfectly fit me.

abinaya_rl··on RIP Stack Overflow Jobs
Stack Overflow Jobs is one of the great quality sources for curating remote jobs for my job board.

It's unfortunate that they are killing the Salary Calculator[1].

If any company looking for alternatives for featuring the remote job openings, I'm happy to onboard you [2]

abinaya_rl··on Ask HN: How do you have fun without alcohol?
Sports

- Learn badminton or volleyball or any group sport.

- Play regularly with the group

- Have a lot of sport/get tired/have tournaments internally within your group

abinaya_rl··on Ask HN: How to find a job in 2021 if I dislike remote?
There are still jobs that require physical presence. Find an IoT/Electronics company or any hardware company which provides that.

Also, try to join the local library and start working from there. You will meet a lot of people and you will not feel alone or anything like that.

abinaya_rl··on Ask HN: Those making $500/month on side projects in 2021 – Show and tell
I've been working on Remote Leaf[1] for a while now and it's making about $2k/month(OpenStartup[2]), while I'm still doing my job. Planning to approach remote employers to feature their company profile/jobs starting from 2022.

abinaya_rl··on How are Rome's monuments still standing?
Talking about historical monuments and structures, I'm still amazed at how this temple[1] has been constructed without all the tech that we have now.

abinaya_rl··on Ask HN: What is the most meaningful work you have done?
I once worked on a science lab automation to do the simulation/analysis work to process the asteriod samples. I think that's my meaningful work.
abinaya_rl··on Ask HN: Companies of one, what is your tech stack?
My tech is

- Python/Django for the web/automation stuff

- Postmark for emails

- Linode for hosting

- SQLite for database

- Airtable for curation

abinaya_rl··on The Inter typeface family
Huge fan of Inter - I use Inter for all of my projects, this is my go-to font for everything. It's not simple and looks modern.

If you folks have not used, I highly recommend it to try it out!

abinaya_rl··on TSMC 2nm chip plans announced
> It is expected to use 98,000 tons of water a day — roughly 50% of TSMC’s total daily water consumption in 2020

Is chip manufacturing machines use so much of water? is it used for cooling or what this has been used for? can someone explain?

abinaya_rl··on Ask HN: How did you validate your webapp product/market fit?
I'm building a product now while I'm doing my day job. It's not yet sustainable yet, but I've been spending time on it constantly. It pays my rent, that itself is a huge thing for me.

I would not advise you to quit your job. You can quit your job when your side project makes money equal to your salary. Set that as a bench mark and work towards that. Good luck!

abinaya_rl··on I still use plain text for everything. (2016)
I highly recommend Simplenote[1] for you. It has a markdown support, sync between multiple devices like Android/iOS environments.

abinaya_rl··on Ask HN: How to get back in employment market after working on side projects?
Doing side-projects is really useful for a lot of companies. Basically they are hiring a talented product people into their team. You know how to handle development/devops/support/marketing for your product. This is a huge plus for the team you are going to join.
abinaya_rl··on Why I prefer making useless stuff
Nothing is useless. Either you are learning something or teach yourself not to make that in the future as a business :)
abinaya_rl··on Saying Good Bye to Hey.com
If your mental health is important, then I would suggest Hey is a great relief from Gmail and other services. It just prevents random people from emailing you and the Screener allows you to filter them and nudge them.
