I am certainly not in a position to make an educated guess, do you want to make any sort of estimate?

So you're telling me there are more public speaking workshops for male developers than female developers? I'm not sure I believe that. I think ALL developers could benefit from this workshop. And that inviting all developers would still provide women the skills they need to become successful public speakers.
I agree, this is not a zero sum game, but github just turned it into one.
If you are a github employee and now have public speaking skills on your resume as well perhaps as a speech or two at a conference, your career will probably do better than the male github employee without, who, contrary to your claims, is underserved with public speaking workshops and the networking opportunities they will provide.
As a github event, it is alienating, off putting, sexist, and creepy.
Male programmers need public speaking skills just as much as female programmers do.
What this tells me for the nth time, is that github as a company has their head wedged, and I would never want a job with them, they are clearly sexist, agenda driven, and whether explicit or not will almost certainly have quotas favoring women developers.
Edit: It's a shame downvotes do not require that a comment in reply first be made.
(Hey! There is an event at the AT&T building. Good! https://www.facebook.com/events/614121478661276/)
Protests in front of the White House.
Protests on the steps of Capitol Hill.
Protests wherever President Obama speaks for the next 30 days.
Local protests in front of Federal Courthouses.
Local protests at your Senator and Representative's office.
I sadly believe all these banners are mockable and worse than useless. The day we fight back? There wasn't even an intentional Internet blackout today!
And yes, looks like it will take after Tasha Yar, and die repeatedly.
I'm out, I have to do a Costco run.
I think you should reconsider your phrasing "dick" as well as your concept of "fair share". Both appear pretty sexist and derogatory to me.
Have a good evening.
Given what you've stated, I would hope the manly man would build them a roof for their home.
I still don't see any requirement or suggestion that being manly somehow implies dickish behavior at home or with his partner.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/03/14/men-wom... reports that men spend 10 more hours than women doing paid work at work while women spend six more hours than men doing household work. That's not being a dick either, and is considered manly by many.

Write from U of Washington where the research was done here: http://www.washington.edu/news/2013/01/29/more-sex-for-marri...
Married men and women who divide household chores in traditional ways report having more sex than couples who share so-called men’s and women’s work, according to a new study co-authored by sociologists at the University of Washington.
Other studies have found that husbands got more sex if they did more housework, implying that sex was in exchange for housework. But those studies did not factor in what types of chores the husbands were doing.
The new study, published in the February issue of the journal American Sociological Review, shows that sex isn’t a bargaining chip. Instead, sex is linked to what types of chores each spouse completes.
Couples who follow traditional gender roles around the house – wives doing the cooking, cleaning and shopping; men doing yard work, paying bills and auto maintenance – reported greater sexual frequency.
“The results show that gender still organizes quite a bit of everyday life in marriage,” said co-author Julie Brines, a UW associate professor of sociology. “In particular, it seems that the gender identities husbands and wives express through the chores they do also help structure sexual behavior.”
Not sure where I got the impression NASA had adopted such a dramatic shift in focus.
Some of this was a result of remote sensing tech coming into it's golden age, some as a result of climate change needs, and a lot was a result of NASA needing to find a source of funding.
But I can't find anything extensive about that on the web at this moment.
Susan's article answers many of the questions I have regarding the current culture war.
Scientists that refuse to debate Creationists in front of a public audience have no standing to rise in front of a city council or state committee and demand Creationism not be taught.
We should not be afraid of debate. Is Science and reason and evidence that weak?
And why on earth should we be in some sort of superior position where we insist Creationism not be taught in schools but insist we will not debate the issue?
So of course it is important that scientists and others that want to keep Creationism out of schools publicly debate Creationists.
That said, it doesn’t mean we cannot discuss proper forums, admission policies, moderation, voting, or format of the debate.
It might be a great site to get questions answered, but I feel no sense of community from there.
I'd sooner ask Kim Jong Un about how to build strong familial relationships.
suicide.org tells me:
About 33% of rape victims have suicidal thought. About 13% of rape victims will attempt suicide.
I think these factoids provide abundant evidence the question is relevant to the world and industry these students will graduate into.
You can decide for yourself if feminism and political correctness in the universities are helping or harming academic education and research.

I hope that Malone (Dylan) Farrow can heal and recover.
The whole thing does strike me as false memory syndrome along with a huge dose of parental alienation.
> They don't want or need special treatment.
Many women these days are certainly expressing that they want special treatment. The question is if they need it, and if they are representative of women in IT as a whole.
As an example, the dongle joke had nothing to do with sexism.
I am not trying to shame you but have you ever been around groups of women as they work or play? Off color jokes are typical of the species homo sapiens in 2014.
I dislike using speech to bully, name call, police.
