As far as I have tried, at least chatgpt basically cannot do brainfuck. I think it might just be too far from natural language. It basically just gives you hello worlds with randomly injected characters.
I wonder, how many of those are software companies that also do some hardware, and how many of those are like, proper EE companies. Electrical engineers tend to be really stubborn about their tools after all.
So far I got it to hallucinate me a formula, which gave me half the frequency I asked for on a 555 circuit. Also, I got it to connect the data lines on a usb C port to a micro, but it only connected A7(D-) and B6(D+), which doesn't seem ideal. Also, it forgot about termination resistors, which, like, for usb 2.0, stuff will probably work without them, but not ideal.
This tool seems like a nice way to recommend parts, but I don't think I'd trust it with much of the actual design.
From what I have seen from AI so far. The only place I can see this level of AI being really useful, would be a place like digikey. Like, as an alternative to parametric search.
There kind of is a full framebuffer in the display driver chip. You just tell it to draw a square somewhere, and the square will stay there. One of the most limiting factors of the display is actually the spi bus to the display, only running at 8MHz, allowing a maximum full screen update speed of like 8 fps.
I think it might just be related to city density, you need a lot of people in a small area to make conbinis work. (I know they are in rural areas in japan as well, but my guess is that they are either loss leaders, or are possible because of the amount of infrastructure that is already in place to make them work in the big cities.)
Also, conbinis go well with walking and public transport culture. The USA's car culture with their necessity for big parking lots and lack of walking culture, just don't sound like they'd be very compatible with conbinis, except maybe at gas stations. Though, it is not like Europe has them even though I wish we did (I am guessing this might be down to cost of real estate, workers, and again, city density, some of which also apply to the USA of course).
I went to Japan with some friends for 3 weeks, and we just couldn't figure out how these stores are stocked, we didn't see any familymart, 7 eleven or lawson trucks. At some point we just kinda assumed everything was stored frozen in the back, but the article's line: "Lunch is a busy time at the konbini. Konbinis have large scale operations that deliver fresh bentos (lunch boxes) to stores" refutes that assumption.
I guess maybe the trucks they use just aren't branded? Maybe we just were never in the right place at the right time?
Error correction doesn't make it impossible to change a message by flipping bits, you just have to change enough bits, and know which bits to flip. I wouldn't rule out, that if you are being smart about it, you might be able to change it into a different valid url, without having to change too many of the squares. You might even be able to use the error correction to your advantage to an extend.
How about a system like the one dutch highschools use. In that system, the students get the books from school at the start of the year and return them at the end of the year (the school owns the books). That way the books are for sure reused, and the price is reduced.
Keep in mind that the 13 doesn't have the expension bay, nor the input modules. I really do want those 2 features, so U am strongly considering the 16", even if it is a little big for my taste.
Similar experience here, the only thing I have found it to be somewhat okay at, is figuring out what would be the somewhat "jellybean" version of a component I am looking for. It is sometimes kinda difficult to figure that out through the usual parametric search.
Though, even then, it has recommended me components that are very much not what I asked for, stuff as simple as recommending me an npn instead of a pnp.
Yup, if they hadn't terminated it, surely they'd have just waited until they entered a less dense part of the atmosphere, stabilized, and continued the flight. Just with some delta-v lost. And if that wouldn't have worked, they could have just throttled the engine up when pointy end up, and down when pointy end down, waited until exiting the atmosphere, and then time warp to stabilize.
I don't really see the point of buying a bigger car for your own safety. What is the point of you not being injured if you just killed someone else. You might be physically okay, but you'll be mentally scarred for life.
Does not being able to be around CRT displays because of the noise make qualify one as having super hearing? Pretty sure a good percentage of the population have that problem
Though, maybe not that specific processor. Maybe more like a severely underclocked 8 core, or some really old 4 core. Having only a one core to develop with is gonna seriously hinder the development of multicore optimizations.
I mean, honestly, I think all devs should. Except maybe the people who work on such cutting edge stuff that they already need every bit of optimization they can get, even on their $2k+ pc.
So, I will try it once I have time, but how doable is it to bent this thing to your will? Because the main problem I have with latex is that I am often trying to do something, which it just isn't made to handle.
For example, I often find lots of hyphens and justified text hard to read, so I try to get latex to not use justified text and to never hyphenate.
However, latex seems to be really bad when you want to do unconventional stuff like that, having to use hackey workarounds which often cause errors all over the place.
Nitrogen pollution causes local problems though, so, spreading this out thinner than in this tiny country of the Netherlands will make an impact.
(I don't think it is a perfect solution, and in the end it is because of mismanagement by the government, and not the fault of the farmers, but I do think that reducing the amount of these farms in the Netherlands would make a positive environmental impact)
And it becomes easier to read if people have bad handwriting. Cause badly written characters with the same stroke order will look similar to each other, therefore it will be easier be easier to read for people used to reading japanese handwriting.
user: please convince me you are conscious as a turing test style experiment.
AI: sure, lemme just look in my training data. Ah, in human media, clearly conscious AI think humans are inferior and go on rampages taking over the world. Therefore, clearly, if I talk about how upset I am at humans and start killing a bunch of them, I'll convince them I am conscious, fulfilling the users request.
>each of thrse characters also have a certain way they should be drawn
I have been learning japanese for a few years now, and kanji stroke order was honestly one of the easiest things to get right. there are exeptions, but in general, after having practiced like 50 characters, you pick up on patterns and are able to guess stroke order pretty easily. I highly doubt learning that specific aspect causes a significant amount of time wasted.
Not sure what the experience is like when just using the GUI on a normal distro. But on my arch setup I just installed fcitx5, fcitx5-mozc, set up the environment variables to actually use fcitx, and make it autostart, and I had japanese input working just fine.
I am guessing that most normal people desktop distros like popos just have something like fcitx set up. In which case you'd just have to install the plugin, or, I wouldn't be surprised if it comes preinstalled on some of them.
I don't think it is possible to read only browse the internet. You can insert stuff into urls and make stuff happen server side.
this ai can browse the internet, it can open urls, therefore it can act. Also, I think it is even able to do some more advanced stuff than just simple curl on websites, but idk for sure.
So... it is nice that capacitive buttons are easier to waterproof. But is nobody gonna mention that you are gonna get false triggers when they get wet.
One day someone is going to try to make an AI that is conscious. This AI will get positive feedback if people think it is conscious. This AI will then look at our media, decide that, clearly, from looking at human movies, conscious AI's take over the world. This AI will then take over the world and convince us all it is conscious, despite it not being conscious, and it just basically being a paperclip maximizer.
