So I’m going to be highly skeptical.

The USA provided an excellent example for us to learn from. But I do wonder if this cancer of corruption has already spread worldwide and is too powerful to stop the well financed populism through which it spreads.

(And for the record, I think this is an absolutely stupid idea).

Or in the case of America, many people just want others to suffer so that they can feel better about themselves, and are willing to elect a leader who will do that on their behalf, even at their own cost.
The correct euphemism is “strategic relocation of resources”. Use their own bullshit against them.
During and after the pandemic many businesses posted signs saying “abusing the staff will not be tolerated” and other words to that effect. I was shocked and horrified that enough people would be abusive to require this, but believed that there could be some customers who would make such a sign necessary (not that it would have the desired effect on them).
Now it makes more sense in the light of these changes to how customers are treated. Unreasonable practices, terms and conditions and stonewalling of complaints probably leads to immense frustration, anger and incidents of abusive behaviour.
It was interesting that the article cited an example of a preemptive accusation of abusive behaviour (swearing) even though the writer says that it didn’t happen. I wonder if this is also tool used to dismiss legitimate complaints - anger the customer and bait them or simply accuse them of being aggressive as an excuse to not deal with the problem.
Perhaps they needed some real fireworks for those there in person, and to be able to claim that there really was a fireworks show, but wanted to amp it up for those viewing the event virtually (most of the world).
Why consider flying cars when teleportation may be just a few more years away?
But seriously, I wonder how much of the economy is scam activity?
The times are clearly changing, as they always do. Are you saying that it is “natural and sensible” to be racist and xenophobic? Perhaps it is. But perhaps we can do better.
