To be fair though, Dropbox is way better than any other backup solution consumers usually use. Personally, I've never seen data loss occur on Dropbox, but I'm sure it can happen - it's just way less likely than the average user messing up their own backup.
This. I have a keyboard with a hardware switch for Dvorak/Qwerty, and whenever I'm playing on this keyboard I can't for the life of me type a coherent sentence. Under other circumstances, I can type both on dvorak and qwerty just fine, but not while gaming.
There's actually a very simple solution to this problem: "Save As" before you make any changes at all. Only then, in the new version, start to make your changes. Problem solved.
This articles is now 5 years old - any Erlang programmers who can enlighten me about the current state of Erlang compared to the predictions in this article?
Yes. Especially ThinkPads seem to be very well supported (typing this on a X220), with everything working out of the box, amazing battery life (up to 12 hours on mine) and a very stable system in general.
The taxation rate seems just wrong to me - 471 million for a 1 billion heritage is almost 50%. Imagine that going on for three generations and suddenly you've payed more than the heritage's value in taxes!
I'm not sure why they inherited it at all - wouldn't it be way more sensible to create a foundation who posses all the art? That way, they wouldn't have to pay any taxes at all.
To be fair, he might have decided to create this documentary precisely _because_ he has this mutation (I'm not saying that that's the reason why his cholesterol is low, or that this is good/bad), and therefore reacts abnormally to this diet.
I have found that XBMC makes for the ultimate entertainment PC. Simply install Ubuntu, put XBMC in autostart and enjoy. It catalogs all the movies and TV shows you've got on your HDDs and displays them in a stunning UI.
doesn't really work for me with Chrome on Windows 7 - an image flashes for a split-second, then it's back to "Finding pointer" (I'm not even touching my mouse)
No, they didn't. And that price upscaling was only for small things, mostly rounding up to the next largest round number. Annoying, but it didn't make _that_ much of a difference.
Interesting - I haven't had problems with any closed source drivers for years, gaming works fine. I am using a ATI card right now, and it works completely fine. Maybe there's some other problem?
This, except I'm in college now and it works that way. At times, I still have to consciously remind myself that X is not completely obvious to everybody.
