HonestOp001··on Home buyers flock to Florida cities devastated by Hurricane Ian
Incorrect. Florida is currently undergoing a massive effort to identify resiliency options across the state. There are lots of efforts in the state at the city, county, and state level to address this.
HonestOp001··on The Young People Working for the Most Evil Companies
An oil worker sources and find the oil necessary to create plastics.

A nuclear sub designer puts together a tool to ensure peace. If you want to see a world where big sticks are not around, look at any non polite society.

Tobacco is on par with weed For effects. It provides an effect. There is a reason salespeople smoke, because it calms the nerves.

Journalist of old was valuable, journalist of today is from a school of training that you need to be an activist to force change, which means they are no longer providing a good, but an active manipulation toward a belief that the journalist believes in. If you think a journalist has an iq above 80, take a look at an article in your field, then realize they are mentally deficient and are trying to promote a message. Then look at other articles and realize this same person is doing it.

HonestOp001··on The energy historian who says rapid decarbonization is a fantasy
Environmentalists will not encourage success:

1. No building nuclear, the only base load that is carbon free. 2. No building the water storage option because of the environmental impact 3. Not allowing for the scale of up of mining necessary to supply the materials for batteries

These three things are why the people who speak about solutions and know are Subject matter experts say: here is what needs to happen, but it will never happen because of environmentalists and how they have corrupted the layperson’s mind to these ideas.

We can look to Europe to see how the environmentalists will doom society.

HonestOp001··on Increased wind turbine rotor blade visibility to reduce avian fatalities
Please delineate in your comment that this is for the world. Not for the United States or other western countries. Those governments listed in the report have to quell their population to avoid an uprising.

Wind power’s limits: 1. Not a base load provider 2. Requires an energy ready base load provider 3. Is dependent on an energy source that is not providing steady inputs 4. Has larger footprints than nuclear plants 5. Blot the natural landscape

HonestOp001··on Sorry, your wife is Indian, landlord won’t rent to you
Your claim of overt racism is incorrect, it was shaped from the filter of the news media. I would recommend that you look outside the bubble and look at the framing.

A great example was how shutting down travel at the start of Covid-19 was seen as racist. Yet, there should have been no issue as it was the only thing we can do in our global environment to slow the situation. Yet, the people in charge came up with that as racist.

HonestOp001··on White House privately demanded Twitter ban me months before the company did so
The disinformation came from the government:

1. Masks work. Nope. Only N95’s are proven. Every study prior to covid deployment showed that masks did not work. All studies comparing the issue show no impact.

2. Vaccines prevent spread. Nope. Government kind of knew this.

3. Vaccines will prevent you from getting covid-19. Nope, natural immunity is probably the only way through it for most of the populace. Sweden’s and Florida’s science based approach turned out to be correct, targeted preventions for at-risk groups.

4. Virus came from a wet market. Anyone going against this insane theory was attacked so viciously that the social media groups cowered in fear of the government. Look what is now being accepted as an option.

The government based their approach on a hope that everyone would concurrently get the therapeutic vaccine and freeze the virus to prevent transmission. The problem was the inability to think about the logistics.

HonestOp001··on In microtransit, passengers order a shuttle van instead of having to take a bus
It is the future, getting the large inefficient buses off the system is the goal.

His thesis that the vehicles meander and no technology will fix that is refutable in that technology can identify opportunities to minimize inefficiencies. A good algorithm will create efficient routes for the flexible transit.

Finally, the author is a public transit consultant. He is not going to be good for a reference when he is on one side of an item. He may be a subject matter expert, but he is blinded to what can be accomplished. Judging from other people’s comments from other countries, my thesis is more accurate.

HonestOp001··on Sad Trek – How an exhausted liberalism killed sci-fi’s sunniest franchise
The part I keep trying to figure out is how did they kill the formula.

Strong captain dealing with ethical and moral quandaries in space. Work it around a military hierarchy and go.

The latest outing had them go back in time during season 2! And spent a significant time there. Is there any star trekking to this?

This is why the Orville took over for a lot of people.

HonestOp001··on A city fights back against heavyweight cars
Absolutely not. Cars allowed people to access areas they would not be able to.

Look at why sprawl occurred, it was not started by cars, it started with trains. The trolleys would allow for undeveloped land to be used, reducing rents that had been increased by demand. Then came the car. Instead of being dependent on the trolley to get you from place to place, you could allocate resources to get there. Economic activity boomed after that. There may be some difference on the implementation of automotive vehicles, but they are not a mistake.

HonestOp001··on List of school shootings in the United States
1. Self protection. When the police are minutes away, what can you do for yourself in seconds.

2. Force projection. When someone who is stronger is trying to rape you, how can you stop them.

3. Overthrowing the yoke. If you do not think it can be done, you are NGMI. How many people in drug cartel countries are powerless because of a lack of weapons.

4. The government is providing the guns to everyone else. Fast & Furious gave guns to criminals and the California Representative or Senator who was pushing for gun control while working to smuggle in weapons. The Christchurch massacre was done by an officer of the government.

We have a mental health crisis whenever someone thinks it is a good idea to commit these acts. Every time it is about taking away guns and not looking at root causes, why did the government bury information about concerns with an individual: look at the Miami incident, the Texas Air Force base, and countless other incidents. We look the other way when people are doing things that seem bad, until they pick up a gun, then we blame the gun for the outcome, not the fact that government agencies looked the other way instead of intervention.

HonestOp001··on The ACLU Has Lost Its Way
Simple, stop wasting money, get rid of licensing requirements, and fire HR departments en banc.

We wasted $xxx millions on BLM. They could have helped the justice system by taking that money and forcing every interaction with the public to be recorded through body cameras. Instead the money is being used on influence studios. How are we going to get rid of bad cops if we cannot identify or categorize them.

Licensing requirements are ridiculous, it causes wastes of time and hiking of wages to meet the ridiculousness. Someone who is in a bad neighborhood looking to go straight would need 500 hours of cosmetology school to weave hair. Why? There is no licensing requirement for aeronautic engineers!

HR departments are full of scared losers. We all know this. They are the people who were not smart enough in high school, got a non real degree, be then entered the corporate work environment. Because they do not have the capability to think, they have to rely on mimicry. That is why when a job needs to be filled, instead of doing a good job, they simply look at what everyone else posts at other firms. Then the HR departments make sure to hire someone with a degree so if things do not work out, HR can say: we did our best. This credentialing keeps good candidates out and causes cribbing to happen. Don’t have a degree, don’t apply. I have had to fight to get non degreed people promoted out of their current position with HR because the candidate was not “one of us.”

HonestOp001··on Buying Real Estate with Crypto: New Mortgages Are Backed by Coins
This is an important thing to note how rote the loans are. If you deviate from what “the system” asks of you, trouble ahead.

The best recommendation here is to get chummy with a credit union leader, then you can find ways to break outside of this issue.

HonestOp001··on The FDA is proposing a ban on menthol cigarettes
If we held them liable for the future medical bills, would we give them a discount if they come up under the cost of long term care?

Right now, smokers die earlier. In theory, despite the treatments for lung cancer, the earlier death means that overall it is cheaper to the “system.” A person dying under 65 means no social security payouts, etc.

Yes, Prime Minister noted that cigarette related deaths saved the country significant amounts overall.

4. Retreat to them being a public figure when people criticize your doxxing.

5. Real name person now has people threatening them.

6. Journalist gets accolades amongst the echo chamber for the expose.

7. Journalist looks for other people they do not agree with.

HonestOp001··on Costs of California’s troubled bullet train rise again, by estimated $5B
Simple rule of thumb:

If it is transit related, then it is a waste of time.

If it is auto and truck related, then it is not a waste of time.

Transit projects get a lot more “help” to make them viable because the lawsuit folks think that they are more green and for the greater good.

Auto projects (roadways and highways) go through much more scrutiny and evaluation than transit, so you better be sure to have your i’s dotted on these.

Which means there is much more analysis to justify a need for the roadway. Transit items are given as much lee way as possible to make it work.

HonestOp001··on It’s Still Stupidly, Difficult to Buy a ‘Dumb’ TV
Quick story. I purchased a Sony tv with android OS. In the store, the OS did everything I wanted.

When set the system up at home, it worked just like in the store.

Then five days later, an OS update forced ads onto the front page. The entire home page was changed from what I had purchased.

Fortunately, I could reset the device back to the previous OS version and not let it anywhere near a wi fi.

What I purchased and what I was having in my possession became antithetical to what I wanted with a software update.

HonestOp001··on Elon Musk makes $43B unsolicited bid to take Twitter private
Good. Twitter is a top heavy company that could have its staff halved and still be good.

HonestOp001··on The Backdoor That Keeps Russian Oil Flowing into Europe

HonestOp001··on Evaluation of science advice during the Covid-19 pandemic in Sweden
Just because something is published does not make it fact. There is a definite bias at publishing houses to “be on the right side of history” and so some opinions will get squashed or not published.

Look at: The mask paper that was talked about but was never published because the results were inconvenient. Anytime statistics blow up a narrative.

The Swedes actually followed the science by listening to all the recommendations prior to the pandemic. The best example of this is the WHO or the CDC prior to the outbreak having published and peer reviewed papers that said lockdowns do not work.

Now the next comparison to do is that the approaches of all the other countries followed lockdown. Sweden did not. They then proceeded to have no significant death differences between countries. Seeing that, there will be significant mental differences and knock on effects from the different reactions.

Ultimately, the Swedes got it right by not panicking, followed the non politicized science, and keeping calm and carrying on.

HonestOp001··on Russia opens criminal investigation of Meta over death calls on Facebook
Genocidal war is not what is occurring. It is a land war where Putin wants to gain access to and control significant resources and a warm body of water in the southeast.
HonestOp001··on UN Climate change is so severe we're running out of time to adapt
Look at how we say climate change as opposed to global warming, or global freezing. What hubris we have as humans that we are wanting to freeze in place the climate. If you go back in time and look at the climate, it has changed.

With that, please provide with a serious set of facts, that we can model impacts that can be implemented to change the system. Please bear in mind that I just watched a model tell us to lock down a system. People said that the model had issues, they were pilloried for questioning it. The model turned out to be politically motivated and has been shown to be adjusted to justify a lockdown. Now, with a serious set of facts tell me that the people who are doing the models are not politically susceptible. Now, with a serious face tell me that the climate change modeling community does not have a positive feedback loop to encourage dire warnings, please include that we just watched the sciences go along with bad ideas to make sure they kept their NIH funding. Finally, please include Michael Mann’s active avoidance of sharing data because his hockey stick model failed in its data.

My metric for finding out if people understand reality is to ask the following: Is nuclear power on the table as a base load provider?

If the answer is “no” then the person is not versed in what we need and is a signal to smile and get away from them.

HonestOp001··on Inflation rises 7.5% over past year, more than expected and highest since 1982
Government edicts prevent any new players from entering the market.

In our market we have supply and demand. Currently, there is demand chasing a shrinking supply. We wrecked the status quo by freezing the economy and the jobs held in place. With the stimulus checks, wages were forced up to overcome the challenge of people sitting at home or coming into work. Costs thus increased. Most of the suppliers have held back on price increases because they a. Do not want to hurt the consumer, b. Do not want to have the government thinking they are price gouging (which if you want to be new to market and provide a product similar to everyone else but at a much higher price to cover your entry costs, good luck with the opportunistic folks in congress looking to pin this on the corporations).

The small businesses are not nimble enough to make paper towels because of capital investments not being there, the big players having a monopoly on store shelf space, and government agencies ready to swoop in and bury you in legal morass.

Now we see the companies realizing they are all in this together, similar to when all the airlines simultaneously declared bankruptcy. I am not saying they are collusion to increase prices, I am saying they are inadvertently appearing to collude based on how they feel out the other corporations going.

HonestOp001··on Google Interferes with Its Search Algorithms and Changes Your Results
During the Bush years, it was a meme to search for biggest idiot or something like that and it would return President Bush. It was a relic of an SEO project done by a group of people.

After Obama was elected, a few people noted that the search still worked and a few days later, it no longer returned President Obama or anything like what it did before.

This was all the example one needs to know that your search engine results are heavily manipulated.
