Cryode··on Ask HN: Idea Sunday
Mainly because they are already Batman.
Cryode··on Screwed by Square
Even if it is, Alex had an awful experience and feels like a victim. If Square can't do anything about the outcome, they can at least offer a better explanation and tips going forward. Communication seemed to be the biggest issue here.
Cryode··on Apple Unveils The iPhone 5S
Plot twist: her PIN is "2000".
Cryode··on Don't Fly During Ramadan
And when do we finally decide that those principles are worth fighting for? When do we decide that "absolutely nothing you can do" is unacceptable?
Cryode··on Show HN: I hacked my microwave with a Raspberry Pi
My parents still use a microwave they bought before I was born (I'm 28), and it does exactly this, except without the power dial. It's one analog dial for time -- turn it to start, turn it back to zero to stop. I miss having it around.
Cryode··on Show HN: Outbound - A single events API for emails, push, sms, and voice
"Learn More" pops up a new tab, new subdomain, and a completely inconsistent brand / style. Your logo doesn't even show up on this page. Ditch the outgoing link feel and keep your website consistent.
Cryode··on Pure: a set of small, responsive CSS modules
Sounds like a Droid for ya. (He said, mostly in jest. Lol.)
Cryode··on Pure: a set of small, responsive CSS modules
Also, just as a general user experience thing, not having labels can be detrimental if the field's purpose is forgotten or unknown. Having a placeholder is fine if there is no value in the field, but if I submit a long form after filling it out, only to be shown an error, what if I don't remember what that particular field was for?
Cryode··on Xbox, A New Generation Revealed (livesteam)
I'd really like to hear more about what this NFL partnership entails, also. The NFL is the one thing holding me to my cable television subscription.
Cryode··on Show HN: See what the best startups in the world are using
Same; I don't associate "stack" with cloud services / SaaS / etc. While I did learn about a few services I didn't know about that seem quite useful, it wasn't what I expected.
Cryode··on Yahoo Board to Meet Sunday to Consider $1.1B, All-Cash Deal for Tumblr
I'm with you - the perceived values of websites/businesses like this are astounding. Somehow founders and VCs walk away with a bunch of money after acquisitions, but what's Yahoo going to do? Seems like a large sum for an acqui-hire.

Then again I'm a giant noob when it comes to startups, funding and acquisitions. Regardless, the numbers are out of this world.

Cryode··on Show HN: Dynamic Cards Against Humanity cards based on Facebook data
Ironically, when sharing this link on Facebook, it has zero Open Graph info or even basic meta data imported explaining what it is.
Cryode··on Ask HN: how strong is your focus when you are coding?
I'm 28. My focus sucks overall, but a recent improvement I've made is the type of music / noise I have while working. I switched from music I really enjoy and tend to sing/hum with, to electronic music with little to no vocals and upbeat tempos. My mind focuses less on the words and music, and allows me to think more about what I'm doing.

I've also tried some white noise creators, like this one for coffee shop sounds: http://coffitivity.com/ Personally the techno music works better, but you may be different.

Cryode··on Show HN: My seven minute workout timer evening project
Seems the 7 minutes was taken pretty literally in this app. The article suggests doing each exercise for 30 seconds, followed by 10 seconds of rest, for a total of 7:50. I was confused by each exercise started at :26 and rest at :8.

Would definitely be interested in downloading and tweaking this for my own. Github, perhaps?

Edit: FYI, don't release production code with console.log() if you can help it. :-p

Cryode··on Do I have enough experience to be hired as a remote software developer?
Self confidence, for one. Don't focus on negatives; sell your strengths.
Cryode··on Die Git Die
I'm grateful for the Tower GUI app. Just wish it would tell me what commands it was using, since I'd like to know.
Cryode··on Massive Energy Skyscraper Proposed On U.S.-Mexico Border
What a giant eye sore.
Cryode··on Facebook's New Feed
It always drove me nuts that I had to repeatedly set my news feed BACK to 'Most Recent'.
Cryode··on Your Tumblr is broken. Fix it.
Your "leave a comment on HN" link is broken. Fix it. ;)
Cryode··on Show HN: Like The Onion, But Real
I'd hope you aren't correcting it by saving your own local copy of _their_ stylesheet...
Cryode··on Business in a Box
One word: convenience. People will pay to have them give them everything they need up front, instead of researching or finding it themselves.
Cryode··on Business in a Box
PayPal is not cheaper unless you do a lot of volume: https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/paypal-fees
Cryode··on Ask HN: How do you manage your bookmarks?
Chrome. I don't bookmark a ton of stuff, just things that might be difficult to find again in the future. Otherwise a minute on Google will usually help me find whatever. I used to be a fan of Delicious but the browser extensions and stuff never worked in a manner I was fond of.

Pretty sure I'll end up building my own mini-app eventually for quickly archiving links, so I tailor it however I want.

Cryode··on Poll: If you're in the US, What State Do You Live In?
Us Wisconsin folk are probably keeping quiet, so Chicago will keep forgetting we're up here.
Cryode··on I'd like to use the web my way, thank you very much Quora
I had a similar thought when reading the article and these comments. I've been a member of Quora for a long time, and I can't remember the last time I had to log in again in my desktop browser. Any time I've navigated to a Quora page, I've seen all the answers no problem. So a lot of these complaints are news to me.

I completely agree with the mobile blocking through Safari & others, though, especially if the whole page is being downloaded.

Cryode··on Helping Beginners Get HTML Right
Might want to emphasize your lib's dependence on jQuery, especially since your article says it can be installed in "just one line", the opposite of what the Github README shows.
Cryode··on Mark Cuban Is Endowing A Chair To ‘Eliminate Stupid Patents’
Haha me too. I was about to write almost exactly this.
Cryode··on The CSS Trashman
Gists, perhaps?
Cryode··on How Newegg crushed the “shopping cart” patent and saved online retail
I was gonna say, I might not shop around to save $3 next time NewEgg has something I want. Kudos to them.
Cryode··on Twitter Site Issue
Could they be more vague?

Related: Not sure why HN needs this; if you know Twitter is having issues, all this does is confirm it. No additional information or relevancy, except maybe an updated "This issue has been resolved." message.
