I'm surprised hang gliding doesn't get more attention. It's the closest human activity to flying like a bird

What backend is your site made with

I believe a big part of the Musks twitter acquisition was to transition into payments, like WeChat in China.

How do you guys think that will play out?

I wish podcasting was a simple open source RSS reader that alerted me when someone uploaded a new MP3 file

> Every contributor-driven platform has eventually jumped the shark, and all in exactly the same way.

The one exception would be Craigslist

Wikimedia is about as unbiased as a legacy media news outlet. Every major issue on wiki has some kind of narrative slant

Imagine when this starts happening to cars

What about white text on white background to stuff keywords on the bottom of a page.....and it actually worked

I wonder how much of this is related to the possible decline of mainstream sports? How many young 10 something year olds in this country really follow Baseball or Basketball? They seem to be more into gaming, among other things

Most people I know who use "minimal" tech, do so in part to stay away from the big TECH Co's like G

"the phone could ship with the Google Play Store and other Google Mobile Services"

Then why would someone want a dumbphone if you're going to load G services on to it?

If you're able to put up a simple website and already have hosting to add another site on, getting a ~$10 a year domain and making your own feed reader might be worth it.

There are Wordpress plugins to pull RSS feeds and also php scripts to pull and display rss feeds, like Magpie RSS https://magpierss.sourceforge.net/

> Also not mentioned is the recent rise of Ad-Free ( yes completely AD-FREE as in not a single ad ever! ) platforms like KICK.com [1][2]

Their ad is pushing their own Stake.com gambling site and having contracts with streamers to gamble on stream

I've never owned a smartphone. I was always ahead of the tech curve in the late 90's and on. Before smartphones, I had a Nokia 770 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_770_Internet_Tablet) around 2008, its basically a wifi internet device. You could connect to any unlocked wifi network and surf the web (back then a lot of people left their wifi open or just used default passwords so it was easy to find free internet in an urban area).

Being aware of all the privacy issues in big tech, I just couldn't bring myself to carrying a smartphone on me at all times. As smartphones became the norm, I was considered crazy for not having one. Now all these years later I am proud of never caving in to the temptation or pressure of those around me.

I love new tech, but I am disgusted by 3rd party software and how intrusive it is

In the coming years we're going to see a war on meats as large organizations push their "environmentally friendly" patented protein sources. The small farmer will be pushed out with carbon taxes and other fees.

The internet is about to get more censored

Step 1:

Create thousands of fake accounts and create active daily engagement among users

> I'll go to Aliexpress and eBay first for: "kids toys, cables, generic keyboards, battery chargers, basic tools, and basic clothing."

I do too. I don't use Amazon Prime and can usually find the same products for cheaper on ebay with free shipping. The competition among other sellers is greater on ebay so the price will often be lower. It is difficult to do returns though

> - Bed sheets (oddly enough, you'll often get lies on materials and fabric)

It makes you wonder about all those masks people were buying online and wearing 14+ hours a day

Only 535 days away from being fined $100 for each of my offensive memes

So I'm going to be fined for streaming a hollywood movie or posting an "offensive" meme?

End goal is to push the majority of of the world into nuclear power which will be controlled by a small few

I think its the cliche "man cave" taken to the extreme. Talk to most guys and they too would want their own bunker. Look at all the popular videos on Youtube, titled "I built my own bunker"

RIP freedom of mobility during the next "crisis"

While KimDotCom was getting raided in New Zealand for "piracy", Youtube knowingly used pirated music and film media to grow its site

Meanwhile the same aged boy is working on a family farm, eating non processed foods, limited screen time, physical active throughout the day and can almost single handedly run the family farm on a daily basis

Are there any non G or Apple options for turn by turn driving directions?

If you just want empty every time, use a site running invidious like https://yewtu.be/

Allocating a set block of time pera day where you can only work on that one specific project could be a good starting point

> when mine finally kicks the bucket, will confidently get another one I suppose.

If you can legally buy one. In the near future you might not be able to transfer ownership over on older cars because of their "emissions" and new state or federal restrictions
