Using this special oem kernel on 22.04.3
I saw others in the forums without problems.
I can definitely say for sure, I ran at least 20 speed tests between it and two phones in the same locations and had much lower bandwidth on it.
Hoping this is just an amd issue that will get better.
For instance, the fingerprint sensor, it’s a red note on a step, sure, but it’s kind of hard to go through every guide and read all these “if you are on X version of the platform”
Compared to knowing you are reading a guide 100% for the platform you have, less stuff in the way that isn’t applicable and less likely to miss important things.
Also, there is no knowledge base article at all for flashing red lights and I have to find a forum post to move the foam back into place. Would be good to get a page up with the light codes for red flashing.
Even the fingerprint pam setup that is required for use in 1Password and others, is at the bottom of another guide I found in a forum post, might be wrong here but it’s worth noting some of these
Love what you’ve been doing overall
The env in general uses wayland but certain apps don't. In those apps you don't have good gesture support.
I would say its 80-85% as good as a mac trackpad when wayland is on everything
I love it, but also wow, so many random things I have had to do the past few days.
I think this provides a good prospective compared to all the mainstream posts about it that aren't going in depth on linux and the usability on there at this current time.
Overall, I love this device!
I’m hopeful for -x version though.
Do the whole thing in typescript.
Have the power of reusable components using React.
Serve zero JS if you want to.
It’s called using the forums.
They reply once in a blue moon and never follow up on bugs.
Save yourself time and money with an M1 Mac mini as a GitHub actions self hosted runner.
Pays for itself quickly, you can upload apps direct to App Store Connect from Xcode cli tools already.
Before that, I just asked for 4 days and made it clear I provide the value of those who work 5 days a week. No pay cut required.
These hackernews developers always act like it’s the most blissful thing
“If only we could just write JS without running a special transpile command”
That’s actually a much worse developer experience. If you’re using any modern frontend technologies, you’ll want to have a dev server running.
Using hot module replacement at a bare minimum (where your browser updates the screen without doing a page refresh, instantaneously)
Is a much better experience, so you should already be running a dev server anyway if you’re being productive is the point…
Most people write code using esm for the past few years. If anything the problem is that shared libraries are only exporting esm so tools like jest that still require commonjs don’t work.
Just use Tsdx or other tooling to automatically expose the different bundle types.
Even still, if JS developers took the time to understand the different module types we would be in a much better place on the shared packages front
Another good one:
If you start a station on macOS. You can’t hit previous song to go back.
If you’re on iOS you can…
Apple Music is pretty terrible. So many times there’s no UI feedback when pressing things and they just glitch into some new state seconds after pressing things
If you generate a “CI Token”
On npm. Anyone can still publish packages as you if they get ahold of it.
No 2FA needed
Lately using remix or nextjs. Not that much has had to change in that time, it definitely feels more stable in the past 5 years or so.
Every new library is using components, just with their own preferred syntax.
Who cares if they have 6 jobs, that’s not for you to worry about.
If they get good work done on your project and skip the extra meetings, they’re worth keeping around.
After clearly proving my value for about 2 years. I made it obvious that I would accept a role at my friends company if they couldn’t come up. I explained to them nicely that I would rather stay, but I can’t without a large raise.
It can be done, but it would have never happened without me pushing them. No company is going to willingly throw out raises this large to people without reason.
I agree with your point fully, it’s just unfortunate it doesn’t happen.
Just this week I was looking to get a continuous glucose monitor. I’ve heard it can really prevent diabetes and help you understand what foods spike your levels.
The fda won’t allow anyone to get these if they aren’t already diabetic.
There’s so many ways we aren’t “free” in this country to do what we want with our bodies.
If you did you would realize things haven’t changed that drastically in 5+ years now. The new libraries and frameworks are small iterations that take a weekend to check out and pick up.
Once you have the deep knowledge you’re set in this field. The problem most people have is that it can be less straightforward and much wider surface area, especially if you’re doing stuff like React then React Native, and also trying to understand native libraries while also bundling code for both platforms.
