xam··on App.net just passed $400k
I bet they just extend the date.
xam··on App.net just passed $400k
Well, I guess we can check by seeing how many active users there are, but I see your point.
xam··on Ouya tops $8.5 million as Kickstarter campaign comes to a close
I understand what you're saying, but I don't think Google would do much of anything to tie the Ouya to its 'corporate behemoth' mission. Besides, I believe that Google's immense power could improve Ouya's standing by backing it thoroughly.
xam··on Show HN: CloudPlay - A music player for YouTube, SoundCloud, and more
I think this would be even better if it were integrated with podcasts as well.
xam··on Ouya tops $8.5 million as Kickstarter campaign comes to a close
Very impressive! If I were Google, I'd buy the company immediately. With Google's backing, they could go into production with more speed, maybe even using the Nexus Q's USA-based manufacturer. I think once they've release the first Ouya, Google should start working on putting in more Google TV and Nexus Q features.
xam··on Borrowing from Google, Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer Begins Makeover
It seems to me that Mayer is just trying to create her own Google. The issue here is that while it's all well and good to improve email and search, and that should be done, there are much more important things to be done. Reinvigorating Flickr and focussing on giving the little talent that remains there latitude to make great things should be higher on the list.

In my mind, Yahoo has lost already. It's in the bin with Myspace and Aol. So I don't think that Mayer can pull it out of there by refreshing Yahoo Mail and search. But let's see what she can do.

xam··on Daring Fireball: App.net
I think they will just kick out any advertisers they discover.
xam··on Daring Fireball: App.net
Pssst.... <command> <+>
xam··on Daring Fireball: App.net
What did you think about diaspora?
xam··on Daring Fireball: App.net
Seems more like an elitest social network than anything. That might not be such a terrible thing- after all, Facebook started out only allowing people with .edu email addresses. Metafilter now charges a one-time fee of $5. I'll be interested to see what happens with App.net.
xam··on Google Chrome's biggest annoyance: Download bar
I think Safari's download window is the most elegant solution. Chrome's download bar is annoying, but functional for the most part.
xam··on Apple Releases Dedicated iOS Podcasts App
YES! This means Apple will finally let us sync podcasts between computers wirelessly!
xam··on "Android ICS already offers more than what is coming in iOS 6"
Of course, only 7 percent of Android devices currently run it....
xam··on Does Apple's use of famous stars in ads show weakness?
No. -Betteridge
xam··on Ask HN: An Application That *Needs* To Exist
Not smart enough at computers to figure that out...
xam··on Ask HN: An Application That *Needs* To Exist
I'd like it to be automatic so that every time I open the laptop, it's open.
xam··on Nokia’s Lumia line ‘not good enough’ to battle iOS and Android, say carriers
Because the carriers really know what they're doing. What a bunch of imbeciles. The first iPhone was nearly killed by the morons.
xam··on A Man. A Woman. Just Friends?
I'd agree. The problem with most of America is that it's a prudish culture which shies away from real discussion of sexuality. Health class still champions abstinence, and only a spare few adults will actually talk with children about sexuality. (Namely, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBXl3QWT3LU)
xam··on A Man. A Woman. Just Friends?
The thing is, homosexuals can be attracted to heterosexuals. For instance, there's a large section of porn for gay men dedicated to displaying straight men in sexual situations, usually with other men. (Source: http://www.amazon.com/Billion-Wicked-Thoughts-Largest-Experi...)
xam··on Insynchq : A Google Docs-Loving Dropbox Rival
Perhaps this will encourage Dropbox to up the ante and release an official sync with Google Docs. Please?

xam··on Why I'm So Tired
Old... US population is at 307 million now... but still interesting.
xam··on Want to Register a Domain Name? Don't Go With GoDaddy - Technology - GOOD
my favorite of all these is name. namely because it's not godaddy, and it's not as expensive as the two mentioned in the article.
xam··on Groupon falls below $20/share
Should have let Google buy them...
