The essay explicitly states that it is not!Others who are not as thrilled with consuming food and media to begin with will have different cannabis experiences. You'll probably find them exercising, making art/music, or creating software like mentioned in the article.
I'm sorry if this offends you, but your statement might say more about you as a person than about the effects of cannabis.
"Command Selection: ...Purchase a Laser Pointer"
Hilarious example
Making other people buy stuff with laser beams... wait until marketing finds out!
It's different than probability (1/10 = .1)
Your comment comes off in the wrong way for a thread about muyshrooms.
"allows some ARM processors to execute Java bytecode in hardware"!
To put it another way: after a stone is dropped in a pond the splash is a mess, but the ripples that follow sure are pretty. :)
He's also keeping the 90s style alive with his whimsical Reality Carnival.

The lebowski theorem of machine superintelligence: No AI will bother after hacking its own reward function.
once the AI has figured out the philosophy of the “Dude” in the Cohen brothers movie Lebowski, also repeated mischiefs does not bother it and it “goes bowling”.
I'm relieved to learn that this is a theorem. :D
Benefits:
- Free, cross platform. Someday I'll shell out $300 for slick edit, but a free IDE is nice.
- Solid C++/Makefile code analysis. C++ has a notoriously difficult syntax, but Netbeans can handle it.
- support for git and svn to visualize diffs
- very configurable syntax coloring & highlighting, also a good dark theme (Darcula)
- many configurable keybindings
- not vim or emacs ;)
Cons:
- can be a bit heavy/clunky
- there are some quirks that I've learned to work with, perhaps this could be said of any editor...
- on large codebases it will take some time to initially parse everything
- Java font rendering
- looks of disdain and confusion from other engineers
it's probably inertia that's kept me from moving to fancier editors, but overall Netbeans has been solid and I'm just as productive as the other guys & gals.
Recently there's been some headlines about ODE-based networks. Makes me imagine a distant future where analog computers are back and hold an important spot in the world of computing :D
Makes me sad that I only got into the series at Civ5, which I enjoyed every bit of except for the ultra creepy 3D models of the leaders.... totally unnecessary in this kind of game. Also it's ridiculous to see Gandhi pop up and declare war on you. It was a good example of a typically superfluous feature tacked on to an otherwise decent piece of software.
There is a short chapter that is narrated by the detached consciousness of one of the patrons. She has lost all sense of self and is trapped in a dim loop of pure thought, constantly questioning what she is. Probably one of the most quietly terrifying things I have ever read.
Like Sherlock-style high functioning sociopaths, or Patrick Bateman with top notch computer skills?
Sorry for derailing the thread here, but this is interesting.
What about graphics, audio, embedded systems, networking?
