When UI Router 1.0(beta/stable) will be released?
websirnik··on The easiest way to use Docker on your Mac
I've quickly looked at the app(0.5.18), great improvements from 0.2 version! One quick feedback, you can implement in-app browser for browsing images(atm you are being kicked out of the app).
websirnik··on Why I threw away three Jawbone UPs, sold my Fitbit Flex and deinstalled Human
I had exactly the same experience. Owned 1-gen UP - total fail, the product was not ready for the market. Owned 3 1-gen Fuelbands. All of them broke down at some point.

The problem I see with activity trackers is that they collect your data, but in return they do not give you qualitative suggestions how to improve your behaviour. Suggestions that made sense. The data is becoming useless. I hardly ever checked my Fuel stats during 2 years of having Fuelbands.

And I want to know myself:) Atm I have all sorts of apps that tracks activity: Moves, Human, Breeze, Rove, Fitbit and etc. Hardly getting any value from them at the moment. I hope in the long term I will. Long-term investment.

websirnik··on AngularStrap v2.0
This is not true anymore. Angular-Strap 2.0 does not required jQuery and Bootstrap JS dependencies.
websirnik··on AngularStrap v2.0
They are semi-competitive projects. At some point there were talks of combining 2 projects into one under https://github.com/angular-widgets . But guys have failed to agree on core architectural decisions.

Personally, I've started with with UI-Bootstrap, but then started to migrate certain components on Angular-Strap. The reasons was that some components like popover with template support were more functional in Angular-Strap. Also https://github.com/mgcrea/bootstrap-additions & https://github.com/mgcrea/angular-motion are nice side-benefits.

UI-Bootstrap development is not as active as it used to be.

websirnik··on EU citizenship for sale
That's what I was thinking. Considering Russian, Chinese and Indian people, who consistently faced with getting multiple visas, demand will be massive. EU passport also allows you to go to UK and US(much easier comparing RU/CH/IN passports).

The idea that other EU countries will try to compete on price, to be honest intrigues me, as the outcomes might be unexpected. Probably EU will want regulate such thing.

websirnik··on Founders' Accents
I'm Russian and was running an ed tech company for the last 2 years. Even thought I rate my English skills reasonably high and I've finished one of the top universities in London with the top grade, once we were at the stage when we need to sell our product, I was completely lost. While talking to native people I was kept noticing how bad my accent was and I think because I've been critical to myself, I felt over time even worse about my accent and ability to fluently communicate what I was doing. It's definitely affected our sales numbers and ability to raise capital. Our company was losing credibility in front of the customers eyes, because of inability to keep up with the conversation pace. After hiring native sales and bizdev people our numbers have grown up. I would advice non-native speakers to keep improving there accent and ability to fluently communicate by getting English tutor or personal-dev trainer or by any other means that I would be happy to hear.

websirnik··on Clever (YC S12) Launches A Twilio For Educational Data
From what I understand, Clever makes migration from MIS less suck. And it gives developers opportunity to hook up to existing student/teacher data, which is pretty cool. Previously, most of the educators were using export/import tools to get student lists into the third party apps, which led to a lot of data duplication.
websirnik··on Redactor - javascript (jQuery) WYSIWYG editor
Have been using it for a while now. The latest version is pretty stable. Ability to resize images inside the editor is pretty cool.
websirnik··on Show HN: Ham, a fast PHP router/microframework I hacked up last night
I don't know about the article. But the truth is that Symfony2 is built from a collection of independent components. And each component could be used independently in your app without a need to use symfony framework. Here is for example a link for a routing component: https://github.com/symfony/Routing

websirnik··on Ask HN: anyone have free office space in south-west London?
Hey Ashley,

Club workspace, Leathermarket, is a good option. I've just moved there last week, and so far I like it. It's £55 per month if u sign up this week. £95 from Jan.

websirnik··on Symfony 2.0 is now available
I'm woking with Symfony 2 now for a half-year. And I can say that it is brilliant. Dependency Injection that they have implemented is a really nice feature. It is also great that it consists of de-coupled components. You can use any of the components including Dependency Injection in ur PHP projects.
websirnik··on Symfony2: 2.0 RC1 released
I've been working with Symfony2 for a while now, and I could say that configuration that is done in YML is pretty simple.

For beginners I belive they have special configuration options.
