This morning I nearly had a heart attack when I read the title 'Good bye, Google Maps… thanks for all the fish' from 'google.com'. Thankfully I was too soon out of deep sleep to have a physiological reaction... It certainly woke me up though!
Afterwards I did ponder why it was showing google.com domain, and yes, I can understand it can be misleading.

I see the subdomain (playlatam.wordpress.com) shown as requrested.
There must be some downside to adding it that I'm missing. Outside of some potential for people with domains to use it for humor, or for tracking in some way, I can't see much.
Anyone else got any idea why not?
I also don't really see its utility in the comment section either--if I'm here, I can either get the information I want from the comments or skim the article. Having a summary would encourage more people to read less articles before commenting; this is something endemic to Slashdot and not a good thing.
