Stanford, MIT, and the Ivies see the SAT as more of a threshold score. I.E. there's not much difference between a 2300 and a 2400. As long as you have above a certain range, you should be fine. The SAT doesn't make or break people.
Also, a good internship will look much better on a college app than a few extra points.
What I've noticed is that the kids who have to be "forced" to study ad-nauseum usually aren't the top performers. They're around the middle, but their families desperately want them to be the top.
The top students are much more self motivated. They tend to be more or less equivalent to their supposedly more-well-rounded white counterparts.
SFO doesn't actually have a TSA presence. They use a contractor instead.
