The entirety of the web experience relies on the assumption that when you see a bunch of sentences, they were written by a person. This is so ubiquitous, so tacit, so universal a foundation of the experience of the shared Internet that a 90%-good-enough Turning-test-passing automated conversationalist is like a drop of poison that renders the whole lake of water unusable. We're in the early stages of this infinite-spam world.
Great insight! It's like an ouija board. It feels like you're making independent decisions and a gestalt outcome "appears", but it's much more social than we perceive.
Examples:
#learning : a data.frame is a list. x = df with 10 rows, 21 columns, say. as.list(x) gives you a list with 21 elements, one per column
#learning : Above = getting a row and it's previous row using .I() in data.table
Use Excel, QlikSense and Tableau if Business Users need visualization. Excel pivot tables = OG data reshaping. Resist more complicated solutions : do you really need more than Excel?
QlikSense doesn't get enough love. It's actually better than Tableau at some scenarios. Or PowerBI if you're a Microsoft shop. Last time I checked, Power BI's Q&A [2] was a KILLER FEATURE. "Show me Sales per Region, Quarterly" and then you get to fine tune it. R and Shiny dashboards = last resort; too much bespoke work. 2 months using R + Shiny can be 1 week in Tableau / QlikSense / PowerBI.

2. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/natural-language/q...
(Of course, that's just a sub-system I'm focusing on; there's a lot more to Watson than parsing).
How are they allowed to do this? This is awful and goes completely against the "eat your own dog food" philosophy.
Separately, I've noticed that developers in general are too deferent to designers, who then get to run amok with shitty ideas. Your pushback is exactly what is needed.
If you don't mind, can you please share your script? My Capslock-as-a-modifier setup is very simple. I just use Capslock + various keys to do stuff:
Capslock & p::Send, {PgUp}
Capslock & n::Send, {PgDn}(Also, to the extreme left of this Menu bar is the Apple icon which can be used to access the "System Preferences". I guess this mixing of system-wide and program-specific menu options doesn't bother macOS folks.)
Now, on a completely different note : a little bit more about the Vertical layout. Here are two articles with screenshots. It's awesome and now I can't go back to Horizontal taskbar ever.

That's how I feel about macOS. It's for people who prioritize maximum animations over speed. For example, Finder is so slow compared to Windows Explorer. I love Windows. I love the customizability I love the speed, and even 15 years ago, there were 10X more software package for Windows than Mac.
I hear that macOS in recent years (after 2019?) even allows you to change the drab grey color of the menu bar? That's progress! Maybe by 2030, they will allow you to move the menu bar to a vertical orientation because that's how a lot of people prefer it; there's less vertical space than horizontal on most monitors. I honestly cannot understand how one can stand this stifling arrangement where you are told, "This is how it is, we know better".
You, Sir, are a very utilitarian consumer. Most consumers care about being in the "In" crowd, i.e., owning the brand that others think is cool. Ideally, it comes in a shiny color. That's it. The exact details are just camouflage.
