I wonder how soon new Amaranth species would evolve since ML models are not 100% precise and genetic mutations of a leaf shape would carry on eventually mimicking useful crops?
Currently building a very simple migration tool for SQLite with the Stack Overflow forward only approach, mostly for my projects based on Bun: https://github.com/i9or/migralite
Planning to make it single binary to remove the dependency on Bun from target projects.
Sorry, no offence, but this is a terrible resource to start learning graphics. First of all good luck downloading those examples (most of the links are broken), then compile them (many examples were made for Visual C++ 6.0 or some niche IDE from 2000s). I loved NeHe around 2005 as well, learned a lot from it, even though later switched to web development and never used that knowledge. But this days better to choose something like https://learnopengl.com at least. Or better yet any resources on WebGL, since OP is a web dev. Concepts around shaders and modern programmable graphics pipeline still translates well compared to immediate mode OpenGL samples from NeHe.
“Completely autonomous self-driving cars next year”, — every self-driving startup CEO in 2015. As someone said in the comments above, it’s a miserable way of life, but I’m still very pessimistic about this extrapolation.
I have probably misunderstood the documentation, the built-in sql tagged template function seems to be providing static type safety using conditional types magic. But, yeah, maybe I am too optimistic about this. Well, too bad then.
Sorry, no offence, but you sound like those EA execs wearing expensive suits and never played a single video game in their entire life. There’s a great documentary on how Half Life was made. Gabe Newell was interviewed by someone asking “why you did that and this, it’s not realistic”, where he answered “because it’s more fun this way, you want realism — just go outside”.
Following the author for some time and his main point is that “electron” won already, even despite the fact that the author himself doesn’t like it. And he’s not wrong. Majority of desktop users probably don’t care already if it’s native look or not (don’t cite me on that). The goal of the project to provide a way creating quite performant desktop apps with a DX of Clojure. And it’s a nice goal.
I wouldn’t be overly optimistic on what an average player can express as a preference. Besides, as a gamer I want to be surprised and entertained, I don’t want to design rules and game mechanics, iterate over balancing the game and finding consistent art style. Unless you meant like really distant future.
Do you mind to share your games details? No judging, I promise :)
I just need examples from people like me and not AAA studios for motivation sake. I literally was called an idiot for not choosing Unity or Unreal, and was turned down for collaboration with non-tech people just for that. Game dev landscape is crazy these days.
Do you mind sharing a link or game name? Despite all the advice out there picking up a game engine, I too am pursuing a goal of making a game from scratch using simple parts of C++ and SFML for now, but was also looking at SDL and Sokol. What was your experience? Are you a solo dev? Was it worth it?
I wonder if it will work that long without need for patches/updates with the current pace of deprecations in macOS. Using Affinity Photo myself, wondering if I’d better off switching to Windows at this point.
To be honest the offline support of Apple Music even though exists, is on par with Spotify. It will bug you about “turn on wifi, you’re offline”, ask you to provide or update payment information, fail at synchronisation time to time with music purchased on iTunes, and overall work unreliably when you just want to listen to some songs you’ve copied from your physical CD’s. Like the whole thing trying hard to push you to use their subscription service.
Sorry, how exactly LLM threatens NYT? Are people supposed to generate news themselves? Or like wait a year or so before NYT articles are consumed by LMMs?
