ulfw··on Tesla discontinues its Solar Roof tiles, not economically viable
The scamming continues

Of course the stock price jumped up again. Maybe it'll jump up more if they kill the last product. What do they even sell anymore? One car in two heights? (3/Y)

ulfw··on Moderna reports first positive Phase 3 for mRNA neoantigen therapy in melanoma
I don't like words like "revolutionized" as they set wrong expectations.

For non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (such as pembrolizumab, nivolumab, or atezolizumab), median overall survival typically ranges from about 10 to 20 months in advanced stages as opposed to 10-12 months for standard chemotherapy treatments.

That's great news especially as they would likely be better tolerated. Bt let's please not call living a handful of months longer as a 'revolution'.

ulfw··on Apple announces changes for apps in the European Union
The messages on Mac are becoming more ridiculous and cumbersome each upgrade though. Kind of sick of jumping through System Settings hoops every time I upgrade an app

ulfw··on LinkedIn CringeBot 3000
It used to be relevant.

Then tech jobs stopped existing and now Linkedin is a pure AI content driven jerk off engine for desperate people without a (real) job to sound important.

ulfw··on OpenAI's Only Ethicist Reportedly Left Last Month
What a joke really. The 'position' itself and the companies who pretend to care about ethics
ulfw··on Why MySpace fans want it back as relaunch hinted
myspace was a social network.

Today we have no social networks. Zuckerberg has turned Facebook into.. frankly I don't even know what it is. But it's not about getting updates from your friends. instagram took that place but he fucked that one up too by mutating it into a cheap tiktok clone instead.

Social networks are now just influencer/media produced slob to be consumed by the masses. A Youtube with shorter clips.

It's not an actual social network where you could find out what your friends are up to

ulfw··on SpaceX wins $1.6B Space Force contract for 18 Falcon 9 launches
LOLLLL yea...

The stink of endless corruption in the new US of A

Surely is completely unrelated to Musk throwing money behind electing the people who give him these contracts.

ulfw··on Qwen3.8-Max: A New Bar for Coding and Cowork
AI is a commodity. This is proven now. And valuations will have to drop 90%.

There's a lot of AI models that each 'win' one week over the next. The pure definition of a commodity market and not a 'winner takes all market' as valuations would imply

ulfw··on 7.1 Earthquake in Japan
I am such an ignorant idiot. You are right. God my ignorance. 1.3 MM North Korean soldiers, nuclear bomb. 500,000 standing troops South Korean forces. 28,000+ US troops station in South Korea. A demilitarized zone. All there for pure funsies and out of nothing but boredom.

You are right. It's much better than Quebec's big riiiiiiiise against the evil English-speaking Canada... which... checks atlas... oh... Quebec is a part of? Wait... what?

God if only I wasn't so ignorant!

ulfw··on How much can you delegate to agents?
I have never once delegated anything to an agent and my life is still going on. Funny how that goes.
ulfw··on 7.1 Earthquake in Japan
Please educate yourself about the Korea border. It's an actual real thing and has zero resemblance to Quebec/Ottawa
ulfw··on US citizen charged after GrapheneOS phone wipes during airport search
It's really easy if you just look for jobs elsewhere and go throw the local legal processes, which are generally all easier/better/more helpful than the 'we don't want you' USA. I have lived in Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong since leaving California and have Permanent Residence now in Hong Kong and Australia.
ulfw··on ChatGPT claims rogue AI attacked more companies
How much more bullshit Marketing are we going to see before these IPOs?
ulfw··on 7.1 Earthquake in Japan
And then one would argue is it wise to build these places in regions with an ongoing neighbour dispute and a never officially ended war.

There's no perfect optimisation for everything

Or maybe Facebook would still be a valuable destination and instagram still a great product for sharing photos instead of god knows what Zuckerberg has done to them now.

instagram being a cheap tiktok clone is frankly an insult.

ulfw··on Claude Opus 5
? What does this have to do with anything ? Huh?
ulfw··on Claude Opus 5
Silly thought. No one has money for overpriced coffee if well paid jobs are gone
ulfw··on Claude Opus 5
So you rather be poor and talk to ChatGPT than rich and live a normal life?
ulfw··on Claude Opus 5
UBI money needs to come from somewhere. Hence it will and can never happen. Fake money helps nobody. There is no difference between getting 0, 1000 or 10000 fake dollars a month if they value of the dollar will go to zero
ulfw··on Claude Opus 5
It's even the 'smaller' stuff that will be horrible.

Even if you're lucky to be wealthy you'd be living in a city with fewer restaurants, bakeries, shops, anything. Because once a lot of people don't have income they won't be able to go out and buy things and shops will go out of business.

It will also lead to a lot lot LOT LOT LOT more crime. I don't see the semi-wealthy to have an enjoyable life.
