If you want to just dive into DSP using wires and boxes, with some additional code sprinkled in, SynthEdit or Reaktor Core are faster, more fun, and produce better results. If you don't mind C++, check out iPlug from REAPER's WDL codebase: https://www.cockos.com/wdl/ — there are some forks of it.
There's also JUCE. You'll find some people complain about it and some people regret using it, despite it being relatively popular.
There are some Rust things for doing VST (and AU) development. Here's one that I've seen a few things made with: https://github.com/robbert-vdh/nih-plug/tree/master I wouldn't worry too much about the differences between C++ and Rust in this world. Audio software tends to be buggy, so the bar for being considered 'good enough' is pretty low.
This is to help avoid having to use a bot to log all message edits+deletes, usually done to mitigate bad actors saying something bad, getting someone else to report the message or take a screenshot of it, then delete it afterwards.
(The Discord TOS does not even mention third-party clients.)
2) You can use another company's marks, names, etc. to indicate your product works with their product. You have to follow some guidelines.
It also wasn't made by reverse engineering any of Discord's code. Even if it were, these rules still wouldn't apply to using third party clients.

The article also says that additional contaminated vaccines were found. But this is a lie. The two people who died were vaccinated from the lots that were already suspended. There are no new suspended lots or suspicions of additional contaminated lots. (There is 1 confirmed contaminated lot, and 2 other lots from the same plant were proactively suspended. This happened simultaneously and are the only suspended lots.)
This article from The New Daily seems to be twisting news from a foreign country (Japan) to make a point about domestic affairs from its own country (Australia.)
I've never read anything from The New Daily before, but this reporting is very low quality.
Please correct me if I'm wrong about any of this.
Lots of shareware did and does that. It's normal. It's just an update check. It doesn't self-update. It doesn't transmit any information. No logs are collected. It just displays a "update is available" message if it finds that an update is available, with a link to the website to download the new version.
> Today authors instead try to perform telemetry and control the use of the software after download through "automatic updates". They seek to gain from users' laziness to change defaults. They want to collect information about users and their usage habits. "Involuntary feedback."
Ripcord doesn't send any information about the client when it checks for updates. No information is logged on the server. It just fetches from this URL: https://cancel.fm/ripcord/updates/v1
Ripcord does not have any kind of telemetry or analysis system in it. It doesn't even report which OS you're using to the static file HTTP server — the update info URL returns the information for every OS at once.
> How about starting the program while offline, i.e., network interface down.
It works fine if you do that.
> "How do I prevent Ripcord from checking for updates before I'm able to open the preferences window to disable it?
This is provided as a way for users who extra paranoid to turn it off outside of using the normal preferences in Ripcord, since that requires launching Ripcord at least once. It's not the only way to do it. (It'a also useful for package managers on Linux who don't want "update is available" notifications to show up for their users.)
The normal preferences window in Ripcord has a clearly labeled checkbox on the first page for turning update checking off or on. I don't know what alternative there is. If it was off by default, most users would ask why it was off by default and why are they being tricked into being left to use outdated versions. I don't know any software that does this.
