I feel a bit lame for misleading you in writing this whole thing. Sorry. :(
If you mean MIDI - only Chrome (latest - 43) supports Web MIDI without a flag. The procedure is - plug your keyboard, turn it on, restart browser (not just the tab, the whole browser).
I hope you'll like it.
Cheers!
If you have a suggestion how could this be measured reliably (won't this be relative to hardware?), please share.
As we talked on Reddit (I released my synth today, Viktor NV-1: http://nicroto.github.io/viktor/) I definitely need to add QWERTY keyboard playability.
Also - url sharing of presets... that's a great idea! Viktor uses local storage so you can save presets and allows you to export and import libraries of presets (in json files), but file sharing is harder than a url.
I think there is something wrong with the way your envelope works, though. I hear clipping when I change notes. In my case it took a lot of time tuning the envelope, before it became really playable through a keyboard and still as you know, in Firefox there is an issue with AudioParam.setTargetAtTime starting or arriving at a value close to 0.
Congrats on making #1 page on HN. Couple of hours after you, my submission didn't even get an upvote. :P
No it doesn't keep out the spammers - they are only becoming legitimate (after they pay) and more aggressive in their campaign.
I am not a spammer and I take it as an insult to be called one - I don't get paid to post all day long about someone else's product. I am posting my own work - ONCE, EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS, after much work and new content.
I am not trying to stick a banner at someone's face for as long as they are on reddit or anywhere else, I am simply posting the news of something, which I guess will be useful to some of reddit's auditory. They can buy a license, indeed, but that's completely up to them - my app has unlimited, fully functional, free evaluation.
You talk about a community - a community that not only doesn't invite content creators, but banishes them. This is not the type of community I would want to be a part of.
Now, since I wasn't direct-enough the last time I said I don't want to argue with you - I don't care what you have to say next, simply because I am sure you will not convince me in something different than what I already believe.
And if he/she is a content creator and want to post anything of his/her own, he/she should post at least 9 times more content belonging to others, first?
That's messed up, but thanks for clarifying this one for me.
Whenever I work on some canvas/webgl game, after some refreshing in the browser (reproducible with Safari and Chrome) the entire screen freezes, without any chance for recover and I have to power it down, manually.
Has anyone had this problem and do you know if it qualifies for the Repair Extension Program?
I think YC used to accept awesome teams with (seemingly) bad ideas. Which is only partially like your example. But I don't believe they are doing it now with so many applications (40% more than S14).
Anyone has any examples pointing the other?
I definitely didn't want to offend anyone and I hope I didn't.
I suppose the biggest "bottleneck" in the progress of such work is testing.
What is the current state of computer simulations of bio systems? Is OpenWorm the biggest project in this direction? If I remember correctly, they weren't exactly simulating completely down to the cellular organelle (or atomic) level, but instead simulated starting from higher level of abstraction (muscle contraction etc.).

Pagehop (https://pagehopapp.com/), a launcher targeting only the Web, doesn't send your search queries to any server of ours, and allows searching in many different sources (Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Wikipedia, StackOverflow, YouTube, even some very specific sources such as jQuery's API documentation, the Mozilla Developer Network or the NPM archive). You can add sources (recipes) yourself.
We don't use a central server, instead the app taps into free web services (where possible) or scrapes the sites (where not).
It basically is a pack of many horizontal and vertical search engines with a single UI and the ability to use tools for post-processing of web results such as Regexes and Fuzzy Matching.
Pagehop queries are a simpler version of executing commands in the Terminal and you can pipe tools, one after another, just the same.
You should check it out (or not) - it has an unlimited, free and fully functional evaluation period (nothing is locked, just like SublimeText).
Yep, there are no API methods specifically for getting the Show, Ask, New, Comments etc. lists, yet.
They will probably add such, though.
In other words should I also be looking at all topstories and pick 'em up, or there is already a method for each of these collection?
Or should I be picking them up from "/v0/topstories"?
