i think this would only work if all the apps you need can be contained in one app and you have a certain kind of ipad cas/sleeve that physically locks the home button.

75% of my contacts who use a smartphone, already use WhatsApp. i dont see this taking off unless they provide some kind of bridge to existing services to ensure cross plattform capabilities.

sounds like some form of prototype/landing page / mockup design service. dont really know why that would require stealth mode.

you have to take into account that cost of living will not be anywhere near sf cost of living in germany or austria.

i cant say anything about austria but in germany 36-40k€ would be a good starting salary for someone with a Diplom or M.Sc. straight out of college.

its clever because not every us startup works without localisation everywhere. ebay/groupon and to a certain degree facebook need localization and if they arent able to get this fast clones will appear and people will flock to these clones because the idea is great but the us company is incapable/unwilling to cater to different markets than the us fast enough. it seems as if other markets are only an afterthought.

awful name, at least for the german market. kik is a very cheap textil-discount-chain in germany thats notorious for low-income areas and as a business has many critics because of their employee treatment (esp wages, paid overtime and mobbing) and the producers of their cheap clothes (bad working conditions etc).

i understand the first two but flickr seems to me as a stable thing. bandwith/storage prices continue to go down and so their profits grow.

cans make some kind of comeback. thez were always there for energy drinks (red bull etc) and beer (5,0 , holsten..) and i see them more and more (in small quantities) for coke/pepsi etc.

depends on the day but 50€ incl all fees is not uncommon for ryanair.last trip to london was 65€ for 2 persons without additional bags. my trip to the airport +parking was more than my ticket.
