Ha! Always surprised by what shows up on HN. I am sitting near two aging Omnichords right now.
trbleclef··on Ask HN: Where have you found community outside of work?
Sounds like you are looking for your local community chorus! Often no experience required.

The Choruses tab here[1] is a good place to start. This[2] may be a little outdated. Or just Google.

trbleclef··on Google keeps failing its Nest customers
The 5a has a failure problem[1]. Both of ours failed as well. After the second failure I demanded an Advanced Exchange rather than deal with the repair shop that has no parts in stock. Google replaced my 5a with a 6a immediately. It was a much different experience than waiting a month for the first repair (which failed). I would never accept anything other than an Advanced Exchange at this point.

Finally... I have had to use Chrome in my classroom because of the ease with which MIDI works. This is great!

In certain parts of the US, you can still find these. I'm thinking Cape Cod for example. In the summer, many towns still have town bands that play weekly or so.

As HN's only? lurking non-swe choral director I'll just pipe in and say that every school should have a chorus that anyone can be in without being "picked", in addition to any auditioned levels. You can learn to sing the same way you can learn any other subject/skill; that is to say it's entry-level.
