Wonder when the narrative will shift to diversity that actually prevents jobs and not just positive PR spins…
An absolutely awful branding decision.
Plenty of other reasons why someone would turn to atheism. Eg the massive occurrence/support/obfuscation of sex abuse in the Catholic Church.
This kind of quite literally holier-than-thou pretension is a large reason why, despite being raised religious, I want nothing to do with it today. Especially Christianity.
Ice cream too is crazy - one Ben & Jerry’s is like 1600k
Not trying to start a flame war here but… who cares?
I’ve published open source while working at faang myself and they all have internal build tools, version sets, etc.
Plenty of employees still do tons of open-source.
That is, in an effort to solve problem A, you introduce solution B, but solution B only makes A worse than it was.
Painting Seattle as the crime capital of the nation is the most hyperbolic thing I’ve ever read on this site. By miles. Get real lol.
I imagine if most technical people don’t see a decent salary bump there will be a mass exodus, which is ironic given the increase seems to be in response to attrition.
Meaning it’s very easy to eat that depending on what it consists of.
Most people don’t need mathematical statistics, but far more will find meaning/interest in the immediate applications of lighter statistics than the another-math-class-full-of-equations that calculus feels like to many.
Anecdotally, most universities are scrambling to add lighter data science courses to their humanities majors. These all teach basic stats, and many ignore the low-level calculus required for those methods (again, speaking of the humanities versions here).
Genuine question: have you spent anytime living there? If so where/how long?
The worst I’ve seen so far: people posting trackbacks, no comments or anything, (the sort of lack of effort that would get flagged even on stack overflow), in a massive slack channel asking for help.
I don’t get it.
Talk about throwing their money away.
It’s nice your life has been so easy. Really. But please don’t use your rose-tinted glasses to accuse everyone else of being “dumb” - aside from how pretentious it comes off, it’s a wholly incorrect view. Does it factor in covid-related job loss? Inflation? Anything other than your dated experiences that no longer apply?
The icing on ththe cake is that you responded to someone else calling them “dishonest.”
