Heroin has spiked and whites correspond to ~70-80% of the population, so obviously there will be many white addicts.
The 'Drug War' exists to fight heroin usage overall; it's not targeted at a race.
With growth and technology, fertility rates goes down and emerging markets,specially BRIC nations, will be severely affected by this.
It's a sad, numb and nihilistic political game.
Somehow, the company gave the idea of change/disruption/... and that made us work a lot more. Sometimes, 15 hours a day in front of a computer. Still, PMs and execs always got all credit and I started focusing on myself. It was NOT worth it.

I can't see how an employed and wealthy population could be a bad thing.

It doesn't matter there are other 10^n distracting ideas, the real need of consumers will still be there.
For example, Theranos may be a distraction, but that doesn't change the underlying problems and demand for better healthcare.
But, from the "shareholder value" perspective this might actually be true. Some despicable CEOs may actually be just as good as a friendly and passionate founding CEO
Instead, if you can communicate well, you turn a WordPress theme into millions.
These innovations are just a child of capitalism, not something unexpectedly changing it.
Sure, it's fair to pay for the hours you've worked, but tracking every minute of work could be overwhelming.

Honestly, it's surprising this took so long to happen.
Think about it: what's the main use of Twitter? It might have fostered a great community in the past, but it's become too broad and filled with fake users, shallow communities and users.
Not self-promoting, but I've written about how many companies are facing the same issue as Twitter.
Some individuals need 3 hours, others 12 hours. The only question is whether the job is done.
