tijuco2··on Windows XP Delta Edition
"we were offline by default...you had your experience in the real world and went online to talk about them" that is strong and so true.
tijuco2··on Insect Hotel
So basically you leave in paradise :)
tijuco2··on What it's like to be cancelled
He should be worried about the fact that he accepted other people telling him how to behave. THAT'S humiliating.
tijuco2··on Pandora says laboratory-made diamonds are forever
Don't worry guys, the price is gonna be the same. It's Not about environment, it's about lowering the cost and making more money. I can prove it! Why don't they stop mining gold and start turning lead into the precious metal? Because it's cost prohibitive. Don't be naive.
tijuco2··on Yahoo Answers to shut down May 4, 2021
I think you mean "ArchiveTeam's Choice". So I chose this option and it's downloading Reddit stuff, not Yahoo.
tijuco2··on Yahoo Answers to shut down May 4, 2021
Ok, I have my machine set up, but the project you're asking us to help with isn't available.
tijuco2··on Yahoo Answers to shut down May 4, 2021
That is so sad. Long time ago I was addicted to answer I.T stuff there. This website was a great idea!
tijuco2··on I bought 300 emoji domain names from Kazakhstan and built an email service
"The next step was to convince someone else to buy an emoji email address. TikTok seemed like a good place to start given its demographic" that's accurate haha
tijuco2··on RSS as a Facebook alternative
https://tt-rss.org/ host your own RSS server
tijuco2··on Generate Flowcharts from Text
I'd like to suggest this one here too https://asciiflow.com/. I've been using it to share ideas with engineers and everybody likes it
tijuco2··on Mouse studies show gene therapy can cause big drop in latent herpes infections
What bothers me is that every single good news coming from science has the same old "but".

>It will still take a long time before these experiments lead to the first human trials

And we'll never hear from them again. You betcha!

tijuco2··on New report on Apple’s VR headset: 8K in each eye, potential $3k price tag
And they will pay
tijuco2··on Rocky Linux: A CentOS replacement by the CentOS founder
same here
tijuco2··on Reading too much political news is bad for your well-being
Here, the best definition by Denzel. The need to be first, not the need to be true. They don't care who they hurt. https://youtu.be/GXYzjYBTlpA
tijuco2··on We deleted the production database by accident
That's the reason I never authorize dev machines connect to production. And that's the reason developers hate my security team.
tijuco2··on Netflix is creating a problem by cancelling TV shows too soon
*it's clear its strategy is prioritizing quantity over quality

perfect! They a launching a movie per month with a famous actor and shallow stories. I think Netflix and Google make a good parallel. Google is infamous for cancelling products that many people use too, like the beloved Google Reader.

tijuco2··on Trapped in his body for 12 years, a man breaks free (2015)
Imagine the day we get to have head transplant and people will be able to leave their disabled body? (I know, this case is the opposite). An Italian doctor wants to try it, but many others are criticizing the procedure.
tijuco2··on Germany plans to dim lights at night to save insects
Have you been to US? I visited some states and I'm now living in Massachusetts for a little more than three years. I've never seen so much green in my life like see here in the US. It's beautiful. The article doesn't mention security measurements that will be taken in order to keep security levels where it is.
tijuco2··on CodiMD, self-hosted, real-time collaborative markdown notes
I like markdown a lot, but the fact that there's no standard is leading developers to create new tools with support for "new features" every day. Text editors and static site generators now have so called plugins. Markdown was created to be simple to use, and I think the Project is what should be evolving, not the applications, or soon the most rich feature app will neither be open source, nor free.
tijuco2··on To Get More Replies, Say Less (2017)
This article led me to another one about email designing which states that plain text emails get more clicks than those with fancy templates. I can relate to that. Every time a see a see an email in plain text I stop to check what it is.
tijuco2··on Facebook's employees reckon with the social network they've built
Social medias have been silencing every conservative opinion on their platforms, because most of their employees can't stand different opinions. These people are unmanageable and want to make activism using a platform they don't own. At the same time they look the other way when it comes to progressive comments. If he doesn't like different opinions, intrinsic to democracy, maybe we should ask Mr Wang's parents if they miss China.
tijuco2··on Medium is not the home for your ideas
Their blogs are pleasing to read. Great font and colors, but everything there is politically engaged and because of that when someone posts a link here I tend to skip it.
tijuco2··on With oil cheap, Arab states cannot balance their books
I had a roommate from Saudi Arabia who said that their king have realized that a while ago and because they have basically infinite money, he started to develop small cities that have touristic potential, and people are being taught English too. In his words, they want to change this oil stereotype about their country, and that in ten years their country will be transformed.
tijuco2··on Harvard CS professor David Malan built a distance-learning empire
"you don't need to attend Harvard" says the guy who attended Harvard. It sounds like a guy from a rich family who after failing some business, finally succeeded and then says: "if you fail, try again, don't give up". They just forgot that most people can't fail. That's a stupid advice
tijuco2··on The Next Phase of the Retail Apocalypse: Stores Reborn as E-Commerce Warehouses
Why do people keep posting paid articles here? Most people don't have subscriptions

tijuco2··on Insect-worn microcamera streams video to phone 120 meters away
I've seen another study, which in my opinion is way more useful, where they are able to control a cockroaches using electrical pulses on their antennas. With a camera attached to its back, these cockroachs will be able to find people underneath rubbles.
tijuco2··on Germany’s top financial supervisor dismissed a decade of warnings about Wirecard

tijuco2··on Riot is now Element
Hahaha thank you for making me laugh so hard
tijuco2··on Georgia Tech professors revolt over reopening, say current plan threatens lives
Just to contribute. I have student visa and the "problem" is that with our visa (F1) we are not allowed to have online classes only. We have to attend class for X hour every week. This or we lose our visa. It's an immigration problem.
