tbodt··on “I just started writing some Rust”
Flags are roughly equivalent to downvotes.
tbodt··on Wine 4.0 released
I wrote an app to do this on Mac several years ago, then abandoned it for lack of users. Crossover from CodeWeavers is a great GUI wrapper, but it's not free.
tbodt··on Google proposes changes to Chromium which would disable uBlock Origin
> With such a limited [...], I am skeptical "user agent" will still be a proper category to classify Chromium.

You could already use Mono with Wine
tbodt··on Linux apps running on iOS via userspace x86 emulation and syscall translation
I don't think that was a very deep look at the app, especially since you have to know how to use a Linux prompt to understand that this app is an emulator.

tbodt··on Meow Hash: A high-speed non-cryptographic hash function
It's the zlib license, which is used by GLFW, SDL, and SFML as well. Companies seem to have no problem using things like SDL, so I think this is fine.

Still, it would be nice is to state that is is the zlib license, and to include the license in the repository.

tbodt··on Why Zig When There Is Already CPP, D, and Rust? (2017)
The message "35 records processed" isn't a warning, nor should it necessarily go to stderr.
tbodt··on Creating the alien writing in Infinifactory (2015)
The only part of the article I can pay attention to is the fact that it's encoded in cp1252, and I'm on a Mac, so all the apostrophes show up as .
tbodt··on Show HN: A Rust macro that parses Java-like syntax and runs it as a Rust program
This isn't really intended to be used for any actual code, it's just a fun exercise.

tbodt··on Ruby 2.6.0-preview2 released with JIT
What's the advantage over using LLVM's built-in JIT, or PyPy's JIT, or generating machine code directly, or anything else that doesn't have the overhead of spawning processes for compiling and linking? One of the goals listed is minimizing the JIT compilation time.
tbodt··on A Case for Safe Eval
Python has ast.literal_eval built into the standard library, which is a pure Python lexer/parser/evaluator for Python syntax. So you don't have to write your own lexer and parser and so on. It's somewhat slower though, being written in pure Python.
tbodt··on Flopstarter: a platform for bad ideas
Does this actually take your money? I sure hope not.
