I just released Lexical JSON Converter, an open-source tool for working with Facebook's Lexical Editor format. If you use Lexical Editor in your projects, you might find this useful.

What it does:

- Converts Lexical JSON to HTML - Converts Lexical JSON to plain text - Generates images from Lexical JSON (preview functionality) - Provides a clean, simple interface for testing your Lexical content

Why I built it:

Working with Lexical Editor's JSON format can be challenging, and I wanted a simple way to visualize and convert the output. This tool makes debugging and integrating Lexical into your projects much easier. I also needed an API to convert lexical JSON to an image screenshot

Tech Stack: Built with ExpressJS and Typescript.

The tool is completely free and open source. You can try it out at https://convert-lexical-json.vercel.app/ or check out the GitHub repo to contribute or self-host.

Looking forward to your feedback and any feature suggestions!

I just published an article on "Your Digital Footprint Will Become Your Most Valuable Asset," and I wanted to share why this mission drives me every day.

We leave digital breadcrumbs everywhere—in the articles we read, videos we watch, products we research, and conversations we have online. This data is incredibly valuable, but right now, its value primarily benefits platforms, not the people who create it.

I'm building Stacks to change that.

Our platform transforms every website into a conversation space where you can engage with others who share your interests - but that's just the beginning.

Your interactions become part of your digital identity, which personalizes your AI experiences across the web.

In our pilot with 5,000 users, we generated 4.5M+ interaction data points, proving that when people own their digital footprint, they discover content they truly care about and connect with others who share their specific interests.

I believe that in the near future, your digital footprint will be your most valuable online asset—and it should belong to you, not platforms.

Would love to hear your thoughts on digital ownership. Are you concerned about how your data is currently used? What would you want from a tool that puts you in control?

Think about it:

- We have CRMs for customers - Project management tools for tasks - Communication apps for team chat

But where does all the valuable content from these tools go? Where do you store the insights, the important links, and the knowledge you'll need later?

If you are curious? Check out this tutorial on creating a productive content workspace.

tanaylakhani··on Ask HN: How to market a tool built for B2B?
It kind of ties into a discussion I had recently on Reddit - that there is just too much supply of tools. It slows down the rate of adoption of new tools.

A couple of things you may want to do: 1. Try to sell in person so that you can observe the reaction. 2. Find a champion in the company who may get the most value, talk to him/her before pitching to their director/VP. 3. You may need to validate if they are aware of the problem you are solving, what are they currently doing, and how you do it better. Once you identify this, create an email sequence to target each of them with different subject lines.

tanaylakhani··on Ask HN: Have your search results gotten worse recently?
We are building Stacked Search: Beyond the first - https://stackedsearch.com

We index the links that are curated resources from people all over the world. We have already indexed 1M+ links on a wide variety of subjects.

tanaylakhani··on Ask HN: How are you ordering bookmarks nowadays?
If you are on Chrome or Edge, Stacks could help - https://betterstacks.com
tanaylakhani··on Ask HN: Who is looking for a cofounder?
I’m looking for co-founders in Mumbai, India.

I’m Tanay . I’m building a search engine for bookmarks and knowledge to provide recommendations from users' bookmarks across platforms, including X, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, etc.

I chose to build this product because I had more than 3000 thousand bookmarks scattered across apps that I was not revisiting or using. Every time I start to scroll through, I would only end up with the first 10-15.

If you’re interested and passionate about building a tool that people love using and love paying for, shoot me a message.

tanaylakhani··on Ask HN: Why do people (like at OpenAI) want to create AGI?
AGI is the next logical step.

People want to create something better than what's there. With ML and AI, computers already can do what's better than giving instructions or recommending things that may be better from the list, however, it doesn't know why it's better or what are its consequences. As a system, what's next is an AI that learns the consequences of behavior and actions.

As humans, we tend to make things better and profit from it. AGI is no different.

tanaylakhani··on Ask HN: CTO contemplating returning to developer role – seeking advice
You may want to consider being hands on for a week or two in your current company. Best way would be to start a hackathon within the company or participate in outside hackathon, build something that can be useful to the company is some different tangent. Don’t just build features but something on a tangential lines or something that your team can use as a fun project.

After two weeks, you’ll likely work on it to complete the project. You can later decide if you like this more.

Few things to note with transition comes different pay scale. You may have less say in overall direction or even the best practices and standards.

I had transitioned from leading teams to IC role and had observed these things, so I can only imagine it for being a CTO to a contributor.

tanaylakhani··on Let's get you some traction/feedback before your YC application deadline
- What are you building?

Stacks is a new type of web browsing tool that builds personal search engine for you from your bookmarks. It resurfaces bookmarks you forgot about whenever you search on Google and other search engines while browsing the internet.

- What problem does it solve?

Most of us save links, posts, and bookmarks all the time. However, we almost never search through them because the search isn't that effective or convenient. Current bookmark managers and knowledge management systems require major behavior change upfront (like remembering to search in bookmarks) and ongoing manual input such as tagging, organizing, periodic decluttering. This inspired us to build something better - Stacks. We are solving the lost bookmarks problem with Stacks

- Whom does it benefit?

It is a search augmentation platform where high-performing individuals bring their bookmarks together from their browsers, read-it-later apps, social networks and favorite content platform for automatic recall.

- What traction do you have so far?

We have 2500 users and 500+ chrome installs (90% of them acquired in last 3 months)

- Is it live for people to try and provide feedback? (link to your product)

Yess! https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/save-and-search-bo...

Ok, its been 2 hours :) Not sure if people are skeptic to pitch their products here :)

I can start, I was hoping to do it last after many entries so that it doesn't feel like an ad. If this comment gets 3 upvotes, I'll pitch my product here to start.

tanaylakhani··on Spacedrive – an open source cross-platform file explorer
That's a really neat product. Starred it.
tanaylakhani··on Ask HN: Why there is so much of everything on the internet?
I wonder what / how it will be in couple years.
tanaylakhani··on Evernote web clipper does not work since yesterday
I believe one note clipper has those options about clip types etc.
tanaylakhani··on Show HN: I built a better way to bookmark, read news, blog or any internet texts
What do you think about turning it into a chrome extension?

How does it / will differentiate from already existing products?

tanaylakhani··on Evernote web clipper does not work since yesterday
What do you use it for? Why not use other bookmarking tools?
tanaylakhani··on [dead]
Would really appreciate if you can respond to the survey. As an indie developer for bookmarking tool, saving websites using links works well, but it comes with limits. A lot of time you want to highlight something or put comment on something specific to remember. Is it just me?

tanaylakhani··on I asked Bard to roast my landing page. And roast it did
Ok, this one got flagged. Not sure why, can someone help? It was just meant for fun.

Kind of new to HN. Still learning.

tanaylakhani··on I asked Bard to roast my landing page. And roast it did
Not sure, it sure took its sweet time before coming up with an answer.
tanaylakhani··on I asked Bard to roast my landing page. And roast it did
Nice, going to try this.
tanaylakhani··on I asked Bard to roast my landing page. And roast it did
I wonder what would chatGPT respond for roasting my website.
tanaylakhani··on I asked Bard to roast my landing page. And roast it did
Yeah agree with you there - it was a fun read though.
tanaylakhani··on I asked Bard to roast my landing page. And roast it did
This gives me an idea that I should also ask it to roast the value of the product itself.
tanaylakhani··on I asked Bard to roast my landing page. And roast it did
Art of copywriting and communicating is lost with prompt writing.
tanaylakhani··on I asked Bard to roast my landing page. And roast it did
It probably just looked at the tool and went like - let me write the most funny roast possible.
tanaylakhani··on I asked Bard to roast my landing page. And roast it did
Sure, here is a roast of your landing page:

BetterStacks.com: The landing page that's so bad, it's good.

Where do I start? The design is straight out of the early 2000s, the copy is cringeworthy, and the call to action is non-existent.

But that's what makes it so special. It's like a bad car accident: I can't look away.

Let's break it down:

Design: The design of your landing page is so outdated, it's almost nostalgic. The bright colors, the cheesy fonts, and the stock photos all scream "early 2000s." I'm surprised there's not a blinking neon sign saying "Welcome to the Internet!" Copy: The copy on your landing page is even worse than the design. It's full of clichés, buzzwords, and empty promises. For example, you claim that your product can "help you achieve your goals faster and easier than ever before." But you never actually explain what your product does or how it works. Call to action: The call to action on your landing page is non-existent. You never tell visitors what you want them to do, whether it's signing up for a free trial, downloading a white paper, or making a purchase. Overall, your landing page is a perfect example of everything that's wrong with landing pages. But that's okay. At least it's entertaining.

Here's a suggestion for improvement: Start over. Hire a professional designer and copywriter to create a landing page that is both visually appealing and persuasive. And don't forget to include a clear call to action.

But until then, I'll be back here, laughing at your landing page.

AI-driven conversations replaced keywords. Emotional intelligence (EQ) entered the equation. The lines blurred between organic and AI-generated content, with user experience taking the forefront.
