If it's an open source project then shouldn't everything be out in the open anyways? If that's not the case then it implies it's a private project in which case there should be a budget...
Maybe Im wrong though?

It all comes down to this; Facebook can do whatever the fuck they want.
I guess your milage may vary though depending on what you're doing etc.
and yeah I didn't say anything as I figure it's similar to discussing politics.. was just curious for my own knowledge since I don't really consider if food is organic or not normally...
I'm assuming you're talking about the compiled javascript from coffeescript and not coffeescript itself? I find coffeescript code much, much nicer to read, write, and deciper.. but that's just me!
I see that a lot and find it highly subjective. I don't find es6 useful at all and will stick with coffeescript for the foreseeable future but that also has to do with my reasons for using it.
Coming from many years of python development, coffeescript is a natural fit...
statistically speaking alcohol isn't even in the same league as any other drug. it ruins and kills more people than any other drug period. it's highly hypocritical that we as a society are accepting of it (and glorify it), yet we shun e.g. marijuana. just look up the numbers they don't lie... (ftfy)
I just turned 32 and I had a "young-life crisis" from 29-31 probably where I didn't know what I wanted to do. My best friends seemed to be more successful than me and I felt like if I didn't make something happen quick then my contribution to society would be nil.
Sometimes you gotta just roll with life. If you think your job is dead end, then take a big boy breath, put in your notice and leave. Find another job. Go travel for a few months. Learn a new technology or build something that interests YOU.
Most of all, enjoy life. Stop and smell the roses. Hang out with friends and family and make new memories with them. You got your whole future ahead so just take it one step at a time!
One of my co-founders says he thinks that registering it after the fact won't have much affect but who knows. Also, the defunct public relations company that had the same name appears to not be in business and hasnt been for at least ~4-5 years...
So now I have to decide between a .tv or .io domain (or hey I can use .rocks, .world, .xyz!!!)
Do you think it is too risky to keep a name for a social startup (that has big potential) when the .com is taken? if it gets funded and gains traction, is there more of a chance of acquiring the domain down the line?
Because domains are finite and hold more importance to a business than an actual business name does and by allowing private registration it encourages various entities to sit on the domain indefinitely and prevent others from creating value with it.
Additionally as you pointed out by linking my previous post, I find it very questionable that the same company that charges people to hide their domain (and host them), can then also charge people to backdoor communicate with those same sellers. This seems like a shady business practice.
I'm not going to choose a new name based on this. What I'm really getting at is the bigger picture of people being able to sit on domains and hold them hostage indefinitely AND be able to hide their identity. When someone buys a house or a building, it is public domain and they can't hide (in theory). Why isn't this the case for domains? Why is a private company like Domains By Proxy (GoDaddy) allowed to both hide the domain AND charge you to unhide it? That is the part that seems shady and definitely unethical to me.
It's definitely a risk to continue though because if it gains traction we may never be able to acquire the .com
Additionally, because of the way things are set up where anyone can just hold a domain indefinitely, basically there are barely ANY available .com domains now which sucks for people trying to create things.
edit: I saw you posted a few challenges :) I don't work for reddit but if you're a moderator Id be interested to PM you about something around that...
