I noticed that UBO Lite doesn't cause the ad boxes to vanish like UBO does. You see this on the likes of the weather.com webpage.
sys_64738··on TinySol, a tiny solitaire game for DOS
This is real hacker news! Well done :)
sys_64738··on Twenty Years of RISC OS Open
Arthur 1.2 I believe.
sys_64738··on The myth of Snow Leopard
The final SL point release was very stable. Still is. Lion was a horrible and nasty release which shouldn't have seen the light of day. FWIW, SL introduced several new UI elements into OS X as they needed something to show off at release. Something. Anything.
sys_64738··on LG monitors silently install software through Windows Update without consent
This is a wonderful app for pairing. No Logitech spyware needed!
sys_64738··on LG monitors silently install software through Windows Update without consent
I avoid installing Logitech spyware on my Mac but there are FLOSS apps to do the equivalent. There's even a pairing FLOSS app for Linux to avoid installing Logitech spyware. FLOSS is amazing. LinearMouse is the Mac app.
sys_64738··on LG monitors silently install software through Windows Update without consent
If it's not malware then what is it called today?
sys_64738··on A Year On: The DOGE Disaster
This is why he should be immediately arrested upon a Democrat president. All Musk's assets should be seized and he should be put in prison until his innocence can be proven. There is a lot of levelling that needs to be done. All the DOGE brats should be rounded up too and their assets frozen.

sys_64738··on "Software Engineering" Is Not Engineering (2005)
Real engineers have to sign off their professional reputation against what they do. Software licences say that the software is provided as-is with zero liability. Calling software developers as "engineers" is just not the same thing.
sys_64738··on AI has torched the market for junior programmers
> They glaringly cheat during interviews, they can't answer basic software questions, and they're clearly in it just for the money.

I'm curious what they do to cheat during interview?

sys_64738··on Zuckerberg 'Admits' Meta's Layoffs Were Ineffective
Didn't Zuck allegedly steal the concepts from those twins and claim it was his own? Something like that but at Harvard the idea morphed as people connected and I seem to recall a quote from Zuck that he couldn't believe people would give up all this data. So alleged plagiarism and getting lucky by the sounds of it.

Commodore is the company they constantly try to delete from computing history.

What happened to the old days of only getting one chance to f-up? Once chance and they should be gone permanently.
sys_64738··on LastPass notifies users of yet another data breach
I remember ten years ago telling our so-called leaders that the data will get leaked from LastPass. They were all gung-ho about it being secure blah de blah. Luckily most of us don't work there anymore.
sys_64738··on Why Does Everyone Hate AI?
The bulk output of "AI" is pure slop without constraints. Eventually the volume of slop is so bad that people just stop engaging. It's why AI free zones will thrive but those admitting AI slop are doomed to die painful and horrible deaths in the long run.
