I think season 10 is a fair cutoff point.
The jarring thing about the more recent episodes is the decline of Julie Kavner's (Marge's) voice. It sounds...weak. Unhealthy. Other actors on the show have a similar problem but hers is most notable.

I did all my laptop research in May of this year. Ended up with a Dell M3800. It's the base model with 1080p screen. I added an mSATA SSD. The XPS 15 is the same thing but the GPU is flashed with the Radeon drivers vs. the Quadro. I needed Windows/Quadro for best compatibility with CAD software.
"Retina" screens don't make much difference in my productivity imo.
It's not a particularly safe way to build a car for passengers without helmets. There's no padding on the cage either. Every race series that requires cages also requires helmets and padding.
Now that doesn't mean the college system isn't flawed or unfair. I think that it is. But some of the discussion should be on how we tell young adults to best navigate their way through the system, as it exists at present. Picking your dream school, a "good" school, whatever, should not be independent of some analysis on what the return on investment is. For students that can do that, there are still opportunities out there... I say that because I've made decisions where I got in but didn't go to my dream school. It sucks. But the extra value from the quality of the education didn't seem worth $100k in debt once I get on the job market.
The disadvantage to this approach is that whenever I want to meet people, I have to modify my schedule. There is value in the idea that everyone involved in a project is at the office for a mandated period of time. It may not be best for everyone, but it sure is nice to be able to interact with people without the ordeal of establishing a common meeting time.
