sitzkrieg··on Hayes AT command set
as do virtually all LTE-M (etc) cellular modules. I still have to maintain several model and even firmware specific AT command lists for several modules to work correctly :( (shakes fist at sierra wireless)
sitzkrieg··on Fine, I'll build my own text editor
its too bad they basically gave up the core of the idea and added generics. in a terrible way none the less
sitzkrieg··on The asteroid currently hitting front end web development
luckily there are still some people who know and care about actually understanding what is happening. but dwindling. market correction needed to wash larpers out
sitzkrieg··on The asteroid currently hitting front end web development
writing about your dates with an ai prompt are not that interesting
sitzkrieg··on Gemini 3.8 Flash and 3.8 Flash Cyber
good to see people still value trinket toys
sitzkrieg··on Microsoft Announces Change to Xbox Cloud Gaming, Switches to Monthly Hour Limits
hour based limits in a product for gaming. this is so bad lol . embarrassing times all around
sitzkrieg··on Refurbishing a Tektronix TDS7104 Oscilloscope
i thought maybe it was just something regionally here or the way people stored em, but i was in a position to refab many a few years ago and totally agree. tek had 100% repart rate and seemed like anything else (brand wise) was always in better condition internally even when way older.
sitzkrieg··on EVE Online moves to Python 3
the eve client is pretty incredibly well made these days. but when the server side solution was to exponentially reduce time , i think they fundamentally lost somewhere else. maybe something good will come out of (some?) that server c++ code being released as well
sitzkrieg··on GitHub Outage Tracker: Is GitHub Cooked?
using github in 2026 is a self own. its that simple at this point
sitzkrieg··on NetBSD and my life (2005)
its also an incredibly large codebase compared to the other bsds
sitzkrieg··on Fast and Hard Code
we are on "hacker news"

in a long forgotten past, this used to be the crowd that digged.

sitzkrieg··on The coolest anti-surveillance tools at Defcon [video]
CSS - chirp spread spectrum is used by both, so likely better software
sitzkrieg··on A joke domain purchase turned in geopolitical warfare
flightaware also got breached and tried to hide it from users. use adsbexchange, less filtered and outright better
sitzkrieg··on GitHub degradation affects Cursor Origin, its new Git platform
i know of at least a few big orgs that had enough and went on prem. and switched off slack even
sitzkrieg··on Tell HN: Cloudflare silently injects its analytics when you switch nameservers
cloudflare is malware, what did you expect?
sitzkrieg··on The Psychedelic Toad of the Sonoran Desert
i have been fortunate enough to, identical experience
sitzkrieg··on Assembly Hall of Shame
there are plentiful OLEDs in 4k with refresh rates from 100Hz to 480Hz. your problem is a small size problem. 15” is targeted more towards portable work monitors, not gaming in 2026
sitzkrieg··on “Code was never the hard part” is an insult to all programmers
i’d bet half of my normie programming career was spent capturing requirements, understanding the target domain problems etc for easy normal web development. once that is done code is a grocery list for 90% of it
sitzkrieg··on US Military's cyber command unit grapples with cluster of deaths by suicide
everyone seemed to nonchalantly care because you all got blanket secret clearance in mil. if you had TS/SCI and an interesting SAP you would not be saying this
sitzkrieg··on US Military's cyber command unit grapples with cluster of deaths by suicide
obama also drone striked killed us citizens with no due process in the name of the game
sitzkrieg··on Assembly Hall of Shame
this is also why 60 hz refresh rate is all but dead outside of console gaming (not to mention 1000hz poll rate devices being the norm)
sitzkrieg··on Assembly Hall of Shame
i’m on LTSC for this (and many other) reasons lol! don’t touch my mspaint and notepad
sitzkrieg··on Quake – 30th Anniversary Update
machine games made all three of new episodes
sitzkrieg··on Quake – 30th Anniversary Update
while it’s the cpma 3.0 i always wanted its also bolstering 0 players and worth forgetting
sitzkrieg··on Quake – 30th Anniversary Update
afps is pretty dead. there are a handful of people on qw, q2,q3 but if you don’t wanna dig around start with the microtransaction feature quake champions or the quake re release while people are playing it again.

also shout out to banana shooter or straftat if you want a quick fix in a f2p game. it’s not really afpsy but pretty fast movement and wacky guns in both

sitzkrieg··on GitHub Actions and Pages are experiencing degraded availability
most companies do. do you mean they’re not using AD only?
sitzkrieg··on GitHub Actions and Pages are experiencing degraded availability
using github in the big 26 is self ownage
sitzkrieg··on Xbox goes down. You can't play games you own on disc
i agree, but only because i’m on a windows 10 LTSC install with no store, defender neutered and updates disabled. these installs work forever
sitzkrieg··on Google fixed more Chrome bugs in June than over the past two years, thanks to AI
