There are private options for lots of things in Canada, depending on the province.

Without data on what proportion of people are denied and what the consequences are, this isn’t a good faith argument.

On the flip side, cases that would get care in Canada are denied in the USA by private insurance. Private options are far outside the means of most people.

ses1984··on What happens if an entire class of workers loses faith in their careers
Plenty of people could afford blackberries in 2006. Having uber is nothing like having a driver. A MacBook replaces about $50k out of a million dollar recording studio. The rest if it still costs pretty much a million dollars.

I’m not even sure what my point is.

Being a billionaire was never really about having stuff. It was and is about having power.

Do they sell tvs like this at Walmart?

https://www.cseed.com/en/indoor-tv/unfolding-tv.html

Netflix is a terrible example, it’s cheap entertainment for the masses. Why would a billionaire watch Netflix when they could get front row and/or box seats to any sporting event or concert in the world and fly there via private jet.

Something doesn’t make sense here because an electric kettle operating at 120v at less than 10 amps will boil water much faster than the large burner on my stove.
ses1984··on Jack Dorsey launches Buzz to combine team chat, AI agents and Git hosting
If you’re the only one in the cast who isn’t cgi, it’s basically the same.

ses1984··on Leaking YouTube creators' private videos
No one is saying all programmers lack engineering discipline. It is simply not required for all programmers, even in many situations when it probably should be.
ses1984··on 24-bit/192kHz music downloads and why they make no sense (2012)
This is my first time seeing any research like this, thanks for the link.

I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm really curious about the limits of what people can hear, what can be taught and what is rare.

ses1984··on Zuckerberg 'Admits' Meta's Layoffs Were Ineffective
The way the sentence is structured implies he is evil either way. He is either (dim witted and evil) or (just evil).

ses1984··on Crypto in 2026: Oh, This Is the Bad Place
