sdsdsdsdsdsds··on Ask HN: Looking for a Python tutor – can anyone help?
What can you offer? We probably don't want to do for money. What skills can you share so that the person can share his python expertise
sdsdsdsdsdsds··on Ask HN: Textbook shaped ebook reader recommendations
Thanks. Your amazon fire idea seems like a good starting point. Like you I also only received searched from 5-6 yrs old. Hoping for something newer.
sdsdsdsdsdsds··on Amazon follows Google and Apple and bans system-wide ad blockers on app store
Hey, I am in exactly same shoes. I am also in early phase of development of a search engine with only free, non-auth walled content, apart from blocking ad serving platforms. I would like to discuss and see if we can work together. Care to talk? Email in profile.
sdsdsdsdsdsds··on Gnome has moved to GitLab
Slightly related, Does anyone have a virtual machine image of Ghome-Development environment that I can use straight away. I am on a corporate RHEL 6 machine, so it has been very tough to be able to get the development environment up and running there.

I am not even able to mame changes to gnome-terminator 1XX version because of this.

sdsdsdsdsdsds··on Read first pages of novels, and reveal the author and title if you're hooked
How is this done? Where do you get the books and their first pages? I am wondering if Amazon API gives book preview also.
sdsdsdsdsdsds··on Challenges in Large FPGA-Based Logic Emulation Systems
No. Its paywalled. But I work on making Emulation systems for a living. So, I know this for a fact.
sdsdsdsdsdsds··on Challenges in Large FPGA-Based Logic Emulation Systems
Its always the same set of problems. FPGAs take too long to synthesize, place and route. Not much internal visibility or its not trivial to dbeug. not enough capacity as chips are becoming bigger and bigger.
sdsdsdsdsdsds··on StumbleUpon closing after 16 years, accounts can be migrated to Mix
Comman crawl may be good place to start
sdsdsdsdsdsds··on Stack Overflow for Teams
Slightly offtopic, I recently looked at all top free internet websites/services that I use and wondered which of them I would miss if advertising dollars dry up. For me, it turned out to be stackoverflow and Google. I truly hope stackoverflow is a profitable venture at this point. I hope they have been trying various avenues to make money but no o no one has any info on profitability. Job ads pay well, but there is fierce competition there.
sdsdsdsdsdsds··on Ask HN: Who is looking for help on their side project? (May 2018)
I am starting market research on Zillow/Redfin Estimate Accuracy tracker. It is an interesting topic to help people understand how their zillow estimate varies over time and with similar sales nearby. I assume the product would be useful to agents and home owners. Since, zillow is getting into flipping houses, this number will be even more interesting. If you are interested, we can team up. Email in profile.
sdsdsdsdsdsds··on Ask HN: Software Recommendation for public facing wiki site
Thanks. Will check it out
sdsdsdsdsdsds··on Ask HN: Zillow and redfin estimates overtime, comparison?
I agree with the incentives part. But, apparently, some AVMs(not necessarily Zillow) are used by mortgage lenders to adjust their risk models. In such cases, I would assume lenders will first want to find out information about accuracy(through third parties).

You are right that zillow used to show accuracy by zip code. But I am looking for more granular info.

sdsdsdsdsdsds··on Ask HN: What are the best educational apps/games for 3-4 year olds on Mac?
Followup question. What are some good apps or toys for 3-4 yr old kids? Anything that can be used to teach about emotions?
sdsdsdsdsdsds··on Ask HN: How you keep up with new tutorials and technical advancements?
I am looking tutorial type stuff than on being informed about releases etc. So, following contributors is not much use to me, personally
sdsdsdsdsdsds··on Ask HN: How you keep up with new tutorials and technical advancements?
Thanks. This is exactly what I am looking for.
sdsdsdsdsdsds··on Ask HN: How you keep up with new tutorials and technical advancements?
This is close to what I am looking for but for server side issues. 400k subscribers is impressive. Mind telling how find these articles? Do you use a crawler of some sort? How well is the business doing? (if I may ask)
sdsdsdsdsdsds··on Ask HN: Anyone sells YouTube video lists?
I agree with the keeping updated part. I am just looking for a starter list of sorts. Thanks for idea regarding calling youtube in the backend, atleast until I have enough data. I will do with it.
