I kept my domain name through WIPO domain arbitration. This was over 2 decades ago. Having a trademark owner challenge your right to own a domain name is just how things work. A trademark owner has to defend the trademark, otherwise the trademark can be lost.

I just did a search on "Boron and arthritis". It was helpful but didn't give you the information I thought it would. After Boron and arthritis I'd search on "Boron and arthritis and region" --> "Epidemiological studies suggest a link between geographic dietary boron intake and regional arthritis rates, with areas consuming higher boron having substantially lower arthritis prevalence"

You might want to do a search on Boron and arthritis. (Knowing that it might be mildly beneficial or not help at all)
sbfeibish··on Laws Suppressing Boycotts of Israel Violate Civil Liberties
If boycotts are allowed against Israel, we'll probably see the other side of the coin. How demonstrations and boycotts are promoted by foreign powers.

I've invested in junior mining stocks. The rare earths are hot right now (12 Oct 2025). As a whole the group is supposed to lose money every year. It's just a question of will they lose a little or a lot. I see people rushing in right now because China is restricting the export of rare earths. They don't know the flaws these companies have. But they will :)

In the 1980's they wouldn't let a guy from Apple keep all his stuff with him. He and his buddies got off the plane, maybe to hire a car I don't know. I think he was talking about driving.

sbfeibish··on US could ban TP-Link routers over hacking fears: report
We have to have a dependable supply chain. We found out during Covid we couldn't obtain the goods we needed. It doesn't matter how cheap goods are if they can't be purchased. China is a predatory, mercantilist economy. That cares more about providing its citizens with jobs than profit. They can ship goods under cost and drive competitors out of business. When it comes to cars I'll bet our tariffs haven't been anything like for example European tariffs on US cars. It's not a fair game with China. They'll supply us with hardware for our grid, but won't use our hardware in their grid. China blocks our internet.

sbfeibish··on Ask HN: I want to be an expert in many things but my lifetime won't be enough
Find a problem you are capable of solving. Make sure the problem has a paying audience and is worth your while. Work on the solution to that problem. Focus! Learn what you have to learn to come up with the solution and sell it.

(Put off learning all you need to know about investing, health, and science. You can spend the entire day without getting any work done. Once you're independently wealthy you can spend your time as you wish.)

sbfeibish··on Ask HN: How to remember technical topics which you don’t use/refer everyday?
I have a Notes folder containing 'subject' text files. Notes/crypto.txt Notes/docker.txt Notes/equity.txt ... anything and everything one day I'll divide them into subfolders Notes/geopolitics/zeihan.txt Notes/programming/languages/rust.txt

if a text file isn't good enough, or there needs to be an image embedded, I use other file types

And a Documents folder containing 'subject' article files. Documents/Programming/Languages/Rust ...

sbfeibish··on Ask HN: What do you wish you had done/known in your 30s?
You aren't thinking about longevity. Diet, exercise, sleep, stress. And supplements. Start giving yourself a medical education by watching YouTube videos. Chances are you can really extend your health and lifespan.

sbfeibish··on Ask HN: How do security pros manage their investments?
GNUCash on Linux on an encrypted hard drive on a computer that doesn't get connected to the Internet. It's a lot of manual labor. (I used to load OpenBSD on a laptop each and every time I performed a transaction on the Internet. And probably had a minute before my computer/router started being attacked.) To keep track of stocks on a minute to minute basis I use a watchlist on finance.google.com and I keep a spreadsheet on Google Sheets. Thereby reducing the times I have to sign onto the brokerage's mobile app.
sbfeibish··on Ask HN: How do you manage your personal documents?
I scan them all in as searchable PDFs. Home/Docs/2021/Personal/Bills/Utilities/Water/202111.pdf Home/Docs/2021/Personal/Insurance/Home.pdf Home/Docs/2021/GION/Bills/Mobile/Pixel6/202111.pdf Home/Docs/2021/GIOV/Bills/Mobile/Pixel4a5G/202101.pdf where GION & GIOV are Games Inc. of Nevada & Virginia
sbfeibish··on Ask HN: Software engineers who have been promoted with a large salary increase?
I couldn't find it. But there was an article or study not too long ago. That said over the course of a career. That you'll do so much better if you keep switching jobs. A really big difference in total earnings.
sbfeibish··on Ask HN: How do you deal with eye floaters?

sbfeibish··on Ask HN: How can I stay gainfully employed when I just want to “coast” as a SWE?
Government. I hated it. You'll love it.
sbfeibish··on Ask HN: Those who quit their jobs to travel the world, how did it go?
What I learned before there was an Internet. So the web, your ability to brand yourself, create your own YouTube channels, and so on may invalidate the following. Yes, you get to see the world, maybe reduce your expenses, avoid taxes. But you lose any network you've developed in your home country. People forget who you are. It might be harder to find the job you want when you return. So what I would do is make sure I had a presence on the Internet and Facebook. And keep in touch so you don't lose that network of people that know you and your work.
sbfeibish··on Ask HN: How do you brand yourself as a freelancer?
Maybe the same headhunter firms that can get you a permanent (higher level management) position, can get you a temporary position.
sbfeibish··on Ask HN: What are you using for personal financial planning/tracking?
3 Gnucash files/directories. Handles 2 corporations and my personal life. It's a lot of work. It gets in the way of other work. But since the data is confidential, I put up with it.
sbfeibish··on Ask HN: Who Wants to Be Fired?
