Edit: Also the input deck and the ability to attach an egpu as well as upgrade to a newer egpu in the future are huge. This is a fantastic leap forward for Framework.
I don't understand how this makes sense. Running chromium with a skin and some components removed as opposed to a completely independent browser/engine that has proven to not implement features that will reduce user control over ads or tracking (most notably FLOC or Manifest V3) that google is fighting to implement. If you wanted the lesser evil and still believe firefox is evil, then wouldn't a WebKit based browser be the least evil?
How do you think they came up with that 50,000 satellite figure? Is that an underestimation? LEO is big but it will get harder as it gets saturated by starlink and especially if other companies try to create their own variations of the idea like amazon has expressed interest in.
I thought they subsidized some of the cost with ad money
*in a time when new hardware was so freakishly expensive that 4-5 year old hardware was being sold for more than it's original MSRP
Having worked in fast food for a long time, I've noticed that with the rise of ordering on mobile apps, a lot of the apps have started to nudge customers to customize their orders way more. It can be somewhat frustrating to be on the receiving end of orders that would normally sound extreme to order over the counter or through a drive-thru speaker, but the app makes it seem fine. They're usually not a problem other than slowing down the line, but getting them in a rush can be a nightmare.
I do have to say though, I do like the ability to browse the menu without feeling like I have to hurry up and order, and I think the benefits of ordering through an app generally outweigh the downsides.
