sagivo··on Magic Leap One
Snapchat Spectacles failed, yet they nailed one thing that Magic Leap didn't - design.
sagivo··on Show HN: Airmash – Multiplayer Missile Warfare HTML5 Game
the best game i had in a long time
sagivo··on Ask HN: What are best tools for web scraping?
Really nice concept.
sagivo··on Ask HN: How does Bitcoin clients find each other?
Bitcoin nodes use DNS seeds, that part is hardcoded and I think the only non-decentralized part of bitcoin. You can find the DNS addresses [here](https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/1b2460bd5824170ab857...) and read more information [here](https://bitcoin.org/en/developer-guide#p2p-network)
sagivo··on Ask HN: Is it worth being in TechCrunch “Startup Alley”?
I also got in twice through the Hackathon. You have to end at the top 10 to get free tickets to the event.
sagivo··on Western fast food companies are aggressively expanding in Brazil
I think you're missing the point of vegetables being expensive in the US. If you think these prices are normal than allow me to disagree.

NYC, and untill recently every whole foods store
sagivo··on Western fast food companies are aggressively expanding in Brazil
In Israel fast food costs more than normal food. Vegetables are relatively cheep to the US ($3 for avocado??) And in general "fast" food is not a value people appreciate over "healthy". One of the ways to fight obesity is by taxation and lowering the costs of healthy food. When salad will cost less than a burger (and there's no economic reason it shouldn't) people will choose it.
sagivo··on Introducing Pytorch for fast.ai
> Much to our surprise, we also found that many models trained quite a lot faster on pytorch than they had on Tensorflow.

Would love to see some benchmarks for that claim.

sagivo··on Launch HN: 70MillionJobs (YC S17) – Job board for people with criminal records
happy to see you made it to YC, good luck!
sagivo··on New Skype Update Is Horrible
You had only one job...
sagivo··on McClure steps back at 500Startups after internal sexual misconduct investigation
> "The change I want to see is a startup environment where everyone, regardless of gender and background feels welcome and safe."

So basically her message is "it's ok to be inappropriate and stay as partner in our firm. Our investors' money is more important than sexual misbehaving". Sounds like she doesn't really deliver on her change.

sagivo··on Bancor has a backdoor
not sure i understand why programming should be hard?
sagivo··on Twilio Functions – Public Beta
I love the new popularity of lambda/functions as a service. each provider can now give you a custom code to do whatever you like, stripping away the needs for servers and that what i can really see as a full "micro-service"
sagivo··on The Future of Go Summit – Ke Jie vs. AlphaGo
that would be worth watching for sure. the only drawback is that humans are not usually "trained" to work together at this game like a computer who can multi-task.
sagivo··on The Future of Go Summit – Ke Jie vs. AlphaGo
i would love to see a match between alpha go vs a group of humans. I think it's a better match since as computer can use multi cores so humans can use multi-minds.
sagivo··on We Can Do Better
I unsubscribed and removed access to my Gmail right after. Companies that hides behind small prints to tell you they read and sell your mails should not access my private mailbox.
sagivo··on [dead]
i would love to know who are those investors who pulled out last minute and why.
sagivo··on Ask HN: Finding remote jobs for leadership positions
That's the thing, from some reason remote jobs are considered as "gigs". I'm not looking for a gig but a real job that can be done remotely.
sagivo··on Ask HN: How do you generate dummy data for testing?
fakers are a good start, you can also copy "real data" after removing sensitive info. this way your test env will be very similar to production
sagivo··on Ask HN: What books fundamentally changed the way you think about the world?
in my case - it changed how i think about "buying things" and how to priorities spendings that will yield return over just immediate pleasure.
sagivo··on My Interview at Uber
> generally servers make very little without tip

So pay them more. isn't the whole point of paying for a meal is to include expenses like paying employees? By paying tips you actually contributing to a system that doesn't pay to employees.

sagivo··on Co-founder Conflict
the professional skill-sets are secondary to personal chemistry. if the founders can't communicate it doesn't matter that they complete each-other's skills.
sagivo··on Co-founder Conflict
My last startup failed simply because my co-founder and I couldn't stop arguing. There's a fine line between compromising on an idea in order not to clash with the other partner to over arguing and defending your idea. We couldn't find this line and decided to stop. From talking with other friends in startups seams like that's a main reason why most of them failed, yet no one like to admit it or openly talk about it.

I wish there was a way to due-diligent co-founders like you can do with business plan.

sagivo··on How to get rich in America
TL;DR - have a rich family or marry a rich person. if neither work - go to harvard and hope
sagivo··on GitHub commit search: “remove password”
git is a great tool, unfortunately there's no standard of storing sensitive info (like passwords). some store it as ENV variables, some hard copy the files to servers using custom scripts etc.. would love to see an easy tool that developers can use to manage this info like people manage files on git.
sagivo··on Snap Inc. S-1
> Snap Inc. is a camera company

interesting statement from a company that just released their first camera (Spectacles) few months ago. i'm not sure if their users see them as a camera company.

sagivo··on Dropbox Paper
dropbox evolution:

sync files - Google Drive

sync photos - Google Photos

sync docs that are like websites and also track progress and chat and tons of other features you don't really need but will be shut down in a year!

sagivo··on Introducing React Navigation for React Native
what's the relations of this with the official RN library? we have `NavigationExperimental`, `Navigator`, `NavigatorIOS` and tons of other navigation libraries out there.
sagivo··on If you don’t trust your employees to work remotely you shouldn’t have hired them
have nothing to add. AMEN!
