A few months ago I wrote a quick HTML5 app and when it came time to port it over to a proper iOS app, I found out Xcode only worked on Macs. And I'm a PC guy.
What did I end up doing? I made it into an Android app.
I'm sure I'm not the only casual app developer that didn't end up submitting to the App Store just because it was too much of a hassle. There's certainly no shortage of apps in the Store, but I think mine could have been better than at least 40% of them.
I don't mind ad-supported sites / apps especially if it means I don't have to pay for them, but to put ads on an entire device that I own -- that's a no no for me.
Don't think they'll give it up that easily
Btw, the relevant option in about:config is "browser.tabs.closeButtons"
Values... 0 - One close button only on the active tab. 1 - Each tabs has its own close button (default) 2 - Removes all close buttons (no close button, right click to select option to close the tab). 3 - Display a single close button at the end of the tab strip bar.

As for the product itself, I'd like to see a better explanation of why I should pay $10 a month to see some basic stats about my posts' tweets/shares. Facebook Insights, for example, gives all that information to me for free.

But this hotel search upgrade really is an improvement on the usual booking systems. I can easily add filters for the basic things I need in a room and then visualize the results based on location. Traditional booking sites give you either no grouped map or a just a small indecipherable map.
Also, the screenshot I gave above is a pretty tame example. Compare it to another search where there are more airlines in similar price ranges - http://i.imgur.com/e7VJq.png
In fact, quite the opposite--I find the splash of colors and symbols across my screen confusing. Attempting to match the rows and columns with each other just makes my head hurt.
Compare the same search on Travelocity ( http://i.imgur.com/PlX0d.png ) and Hipmunk ( http://i.imgur.com/1eh47.png )
It may be just me, but the Travelocity results are much clearer. I don't have to click on each flight to view basic details about it. Additionally, Hipmunk charges a higher fee for their bookings than bigger name travel sites.
Has anyone ever actually said this? Between the logo doodles, April fools jokes, and bright colors, Google is one of the funnest companies around.
GoDaddy is one of the few that actually has free phone support, which is a lot nicer than an automated email and a response 48 hours later.
You need to have an idea that you can believe has a chance of being successful.
