red2awn··on North Korea’s nuclear program is funded by stolen crypto. Could FTX collapse it?
It just means that stealing crypto is no longer a viable source of funds to operate their nuclear program.
red2awn··on Tell HN: YouTube's web UI just got even worse
Everything also have a rounded corner now. This is only in my A/B test group though, I don't see it when in incognito.
red2awn··on Understanding Jane Street
Under this structure, how are trading profits shifted to the cost centres to pay for operating expenses?
red2awn··on Show HN: World’s first £3 flat fee (0% FX markup) money transfer service
While you are at it, Solana's fee is $0.00045. But as the others have said, you lose so much money transferring from and into fiat.
red2awn··on The Go language's first commit (1972)
The back button is broken on your website.
red2awn··on Anti-Patterns to Avoid in Lambda Based Apps
I think what you are describing is already here, in the form of Cloudflare Workers. See https://developers.cloudflare.com/workers/platform/limits#bu...
red2awn··on MacBook Pro 14-inch and MacBook Pro 16-inch
As a developer, I think we should invest in big external monitor, not looking at a tiny 14in display, however nice it is.
red2awn··on Convert Apple NeuralHash model for CSAM Detection to ONNX
Well you would still need to learn Pytorch/tensorflow and define your network there, you then export it to ONNX format for deployment.
red2awn··on Neovim v0.5
I have been using this plugin for a while now and it is pretty solid. Most vscode plugins and vim plugins can work together nicely. For LSP you should just use the one built into vscode.
red2awn··on Ask HN: Favorite Blogs by Individuals?

red2awn··on Developers Who Use Spaces Make More Money Than Those Who Use Tabs (2017)
I hope you configured soft tabs...
red2awn··on Organizations announced for Google Summer of Code 2021
You are now supposed to work 4 hours per day instead of 8, so I don't think that is it. I feel the changes this year is going to decrease the quality of the whole event.
red2awn··on Show HN: Can’t afford Bloomberg Terminal? No prob, I built the next best thing
Most brokerages provide real time data to clients.
red2awn··on New MacBook Pro models to feature magsafe, no touch bar and more ports: analyst
Interesting that there is no mention of a mini-LED display. Other than that the 14 inch model seems to be everything I would ever want.
red2awn··on A half-hour to learn Rust
There is literally a Rust example in your wiki link saying that this is shadowing. You can even redefine the variable to have a different type, how can this be reassignment.
red2awn··on F# for fun and profit: Terms and Conditions
I like that the terms and conditions page has a comment section beneath it.
red2awn··on Ask HN: What Lived Up to the Hype?
Same here, the audio in IMAX is not good.
red2awn··on AirPods Max
Well if you are the type of guy to buy this headphone, you'd probably also own a macbook to watch movies on.
red2awn··on Parse, don’t type-check
Yeah I am currently writing a compiler, turns out for useful error messages my parser should accept a superset of my language, then validate it afterwards.
red2awn··on My Beef with RuboCop
But a formatter can only format auto-fixable code right? I meant lints like high cyclomatic complexity, which requires me to extract out functions pointlessly.

I was an intern at that time so didn't make a fuss about changing the config.

red2awn··on My Beef with RuboCop
I worked at a place with RuboCop as part of the CI, it was a horrible experience. I spent more time fixing lint errors than actual work, and all it does is make my code less readable.
red2awn··on Reflections on my first completed application in OCaml
My biggest frustration with the Ocaml is with third-party libraries documentation. The majority of the docs are just function signatures without explanation, let alone usage examples.

The language however is quite nice and the stdlib is fairly complete.

Edit: Another problem I see is the (over?) reliance on PPX preprocessors. It does make a lot of tasks simpler, but it is too much magic for me personally.

red2awn··on Amazon Review Scam
That's my approach as well, the 4 star reviews are usually the most informative.
red2awn··on AMD Zen 3 Ryzen Deep Dive Review
Yeah that would be the sweet spot. Now I probably have to get a last gen 3700X since the 5800X is way much out of my budget.
red2awn··on Show HN: Ugliest.app – Ugly but good app platform

red2awn··on Standard ML in 2020
Do you think it make sense to include a character type that is basically a variable-size utf8 extended grapheme cluster?
red2awn··on Standard ML in 2020
I am designing a language based on OCaml/Standard ML, what are some of the problems present in these languages that can be fixed by a new design without being constrained by a spec or backwards compatibility?
red2awn··on Cursed Elixir
Exactly. I worked at a ruby shop a while ago and the rubocop lints makes you write code and test less readable than they can be.
red2awn··on AWS forked my project and launched it as its own service
CockroachDB changed their license to address this specific issue. See https://www.cockroachlabs.com/docs/stable/licensing-faqs.htm...
