I don't like the people standing on the sidelines saying "Those were obviously useful fences." Ya but most fences suck. If you don't have healthy mechanisms for shedding/fresh slates your system will rot.

> the most interesting thing about this jev stuff
> is that people are seemingly like
> completely disinterested in how smart it actually is
> I haven't even heard it mentioned a single time how it actually compares to other LLMs coming up with their own classifications. Just: it's fast and cheap
After watching a few minutes of this it makes me think that maybe we should be a little more interested in how smart it is.

WASD on desktop, two fingers on mobile to navigate
I thought you had to actively manage caches, do you not?
Using OpenAI through codex (cli) is the way you should use it.
Web is such a powerful platform and so many people still treat their web applications like they're just interactive documents. I think the most bothersome thing on mobile web is if an application has shifting framing ("chrome") when you pan around, like you're looking at a PDF.
Let me know, but I developed it almost entirely focused on iPhone SE as a target to give myself the most claustrophobic possible experience, and I think that helped guide a lot of the decisions.

That presentation was foundational for me personally wrt quite a few things.
It's not out-thinking, it's just out-remembering
It's not out-thinking, it's just out-working
It's not out-thinking, it's just able to consider more things simultaneously
It's not creative, it's just randomly generating things and then selecting viable ones
Socialism is a prescriptive ideology, it is concerned precisely with the nature of the economic relationships people make. Labor theory of value. "From each according to their abilities, to each according to their needs." Workers own the means of production. To the degree that people are able to freely structure their economic relationships with one another, then the vast majority of those relationships will look nothing like the prescriptions of socialism. To the degree that the economic relationships are made to look like the prescriptions of socialism, then the economic model would fail to be described as a free market.
This is why in a free market/"capitalist" economy, communes can exist, Mondragon can exist...because you can structure your relationships with one another however you want. It's just that most people don't like that structure. "Capitalism" itself doesn't care at all if that's the way people want to distribute equity and control of the corporation. Now, if you want to structure an arbitrary economic relationship in a socialist communist country...good luck.
Now, I don't want any additional engineers. Not only because I don't need them anymore, but because the prospect of having junior engineers using AI is absolutely terrifying to me. I can't eyeball their code to get a sense of how good of an engineer they are anymore, and I can't possibly review all of their code because of how much code AI can output now. So they're going to be outputting a ton of mostly high-quality code that could be making horrible mistakes that are much harder for me to catch now.
I don't think this is the main thing. I think the real risk open weights AI poses to them is that it allows us to get inference from providers that only care about making profits on inference. What OpenAI/Anthropic want is to be able to jack up inference prices once everyone is dependent. Open weights keeps them honest.
