Mini rant: Can we stop calling that guy by his first name as if you were his acquaintance?
Until you have something like the human brain powering the car you cannot just use "two eyes"
Very little technical knowledge overall. It was a disaster.
It was very entertaining seeing all my group chats move one by one to Signal now that there is a critical mass of users that agree that it is the right choice. I tried to make it happen in the past and it was too much a pain to convince people that Signal was way better than WhatsApp.
Amazing what some internal koolaid can do to you (well more than this,it's really probably greed). Please rethink critically the ethics of your employer.
It seems pretty common that people compare Teslas with the car they had before. It's like comparing an entry dell laptop with a MacBook pro.
I think it's an immature car and most buyers are attracted to the brand appeal, and use it to appear next gen to their neighbors. As usual, no owner will recognize this but it's a well known phenomenon that manufacturers use against us.
I'm wondering if this is not the result of the ultra loud vocal minority once again?
When everyone advertises, it is back to the same status quo. And when everyone stops advertising it ends up being the same.
I really hope more companies would stop advertising or at least question the value they are getting out of those money pits. Ads created some of most horrible companies the world ever saw (Google, Facebook).
I test drove the Bolt and the Tesla, and the Bolt is a MUCH better value for the dollars paid (you can get it for around 30k$ with a bit of haggling). Saying that GM doesn't know how to make car is laughable.
TSLA is a meme stock that operates on a narrative that "TSLA always goes up". It's pure speculation and that bubble is going to pop very badly. And it might take the whole economy with it now that it is in the SP500 with a ridiculous valuation.
Musk is managing his companies as pure hype-machines. This can only successfully work for a couple companies that operates as cult.
If there is one thing that made Tesla successful, is the charismatic leader personality of Musk. Tesla is only a success on the stock market. They are not profitable, and the coming years will be the turning point for EVs. I don't see them coming out ahead.
I said this before, but I hate the direction the workspace is going. Interruption driven work seems to become the new normal.
For example, you could take a couple years to try to build a one-man startup. Working on building an MVP that would resolve a niche problem? You will be less stressed because you would know that in the worst case you can always go back to a comfy engineering job. With 1M$ you already did better than 99% of the people your age.
Productivity is now equated to busy-ness on corporate chat. You are being judged on how much "chats" and "mentions" you send. If you are offline (because you want to do actual work), people now automatically think that you are not working.
